Saturday

This morning I worked on swapping the BDG platform sale shoes with the peeptoe skimmers. Now the skimmers are more visible, and hopefully when people come down the stairs it will draw more ladies in. I also filled the platform sneakers. Kat came in at 8 and worked on jewelry. She finished processing the jewelry from this week yesterday. Today she worked on re-pegging th jewelry frame and cleaning that up. Its really starting to look great, and our jewelry numbers are showing that!!

I also worked on filling intimates. I really want to try to get out the Brooklyn bra tops, we have soo many!! I filled panties, hanging bras, and the bandeaus. I also filled WACC sale bags a bit. Those triguesset bags are on sale for 9.99 and we still have quite a few left in brown.

Other then that, i've just been working on trying to keep the cash wrap clean because Kat cleaned it up yesterday. It's been a slow morning so we're focusing on customer service so the people who do come in can leave with a bunch of good merch.

Tomorrow we're working on sale nail polish/the stanchions, velocitizing small good, and filling (per usual!)
Everyone say hello to the new member of WACC, Emily, a transfer from Florida Memphis! !

Torrential

Hey guys. It was another busy day. We got shipment again today since Monday is a holiday, and though they are processed and placed, the surplus is sitting in bs waiting for homes in bays. Other than processing shipment, I worked on sunglasses my last hour and, with the help of Janine, completed processing the online returns.

In Great News: Congratulations Leslie! Leslie is our new Women's team lead, so congratulate her when you see her.

Directives

Friday: The cash wrap needs some TLC. Please gut the cash wrap. This means: organizing the drawers, the shelving, and removing ALL product from the registers and the pull out drawers. I would then work on any skuless items and direct returns that are to be processed. NO ONE should be adding to these baskets.

Directives:

  • The jewelry frame is going to become all necklaces. Any earrings or other jewelry on the frame will be moved onto the wacc cluster. The cluster itself needs to be filled and ALL the jewelry needs to be processed. We've been getting behind on that. Jewelry should really have a 24 hour turn out which means within 24 hours it should be on the floor. Our jewelry makes us well over $1,00 every week.
  • The front of the jewelry frame will be velocity necklaces.
  • The knotted turbans will go on the front of the maxi/hair accessories rack onto the spindles.
  • The stanchions will become sale nail polish in six of the boxes while the other six next to it will become grab and go beauty products.
  • Small goods is to get velocitized and at eye level on the frame.
  • The companion pouch and the ecote tassel bag will be swapped from the back of the vignette to the front of the small goods frame.
  • Tights will go on the socks frame underneath the socks. Socks will get consolidated.
  • Markdowns this week. Firsts & furthers!! We got some good stuff that got marked down and most of it went to very affordable price points.
  • The linen skimmers will get re-stacked so it's whole rows of shoes as opposed to every other peg being a different style.
  • The BDG platform sneakers will switch with the open toe peep skimmers. The skimmers are a nicer presentation and will also draw more people into the frames.
I will update later with weekend direction depending on how much Abby and I can get done today. Hopefully we can also work on processing some of that jewelry tonight.

Halp

We had two call outs/no shows today, so ontop of beating the day (woo!) we had our work cut out for us.
The closing team only consisted of three employees plus a manager,  so needless to say it did not end in a close to perfection. I honestly spent the majority of my time helping the Women's floor regain shape.

Abby, I didn't get a chance to process most of the unprocessed runs in that WACC basket. There's dozens in there, and my tired brain doesn't remember the reason that so many runs were left unprocessed over the course of the day/night they appeared, but I was of the understanding that we weren't going to "go there" anymore. With a busy day/night it really isn't too possible to process all of the returns we get + 20+ unprocessed runs from days before, so let's keep those happenings to a minimum to avoid an invevitable build up.
There are also about 4 boxes of shoes that appeared at the end of the close, and I put those in the drawers in the wrap. My apologies for not getting to run them down to BS, the night was dragging down.

As far as filling, the new/replen headbands we got in could definitely use a place since they're low, as well as nail polish, statement rings near the cluster, necklaces, and bracelets (there's a whole glass dish that's empty that should be filled).

Im off until Friday, so keep a girl (and team) updated!

Trippy Tueday

Hi dolls! Happy Tuesday! We got a lot of shipment today, three boxes of boxed shoes, multiple boxes of TOMS, two regular sized boxes of the KB skimmers etc. I was able to process everything but some new and replen head bands, but, besides the boxed shoes and most of the TOMS, all of our shipment from yesterday and today are sitting outside our bays. I do everything I can to make sure our shipment is ready for the floor and back stock, but I can't get into back stock to make sure its not in disarray, which it is quickly approaching. I forgot to mention yesterday that we have markdowns this week. However, I'm sure I won't get to it till Thursday. You guys have a great night!

Post pyschotic sale

Hey guys! We had a super clean this morning, so although I got in at 8, a little after 9 we wrapped up shipment in order to clean. I didn't really begin in any order, but I started in backstock, trying to figure out some of the randomness. Someone pulled a couple bins from the bays and left them out. So I put those back into the bays, moved a couple baskets of hats out of the inner bays and placed them at the very top to make room for bins of merchandise. I also pulled some sale shoes and sale bags to the floor and then moved the two full priced bags that were laying in open spaces in the rolling bay to the bag bay. When I came in, the hangers were overflowing at the cash wrap and in the break room. Thus, I started by pulling shopping bags to fill at the cash wrap but also to get rid of a lot of the card board in the break room, which cleared up all the floor space in front of the full hanger bars, and consequently made them more accessible. With a little consolidation, I made room for more hangers and hanger bars, before Leslie took over and put all the hangers from the wrap and those that were laying on the floor and loosely hanging onto hanger bars into the hanger organizers. After filling bags, I dusted and clorox-wiped all the surfaces at the wrap and swept. We didn't get too much shipment today (and for the most part they were all replen), although it seemed like a lot  because so much was packed in small boxes, and I was able to finish processing all but one box of panties and replen sandals.

Imortant info: We have new cycle counts on the mini Instax fuji cameras, the women's black bdg twig midrise denim and a men's item that wasn't announced but which I will figure out tomorrow. So look out for that.

I hope everyone had a great weekend

Love, abby

Womp Womp Womp

Rain. Sale. Rain. Sale. Two of my faaaavorite things.

I was at the wrap all day after opening. This morning I filled WACC sale to the brim and filled sunglasses as well as spot filling the floor. The rest is history. There were constantly lines to the Fits of customers so I'm hoping we made our day. WACC is currently down 1% if I'm correct, so we must be sure to ge the floor back up to full ASAP. Sunglasses could always use a good fill, as well as nail polish and beauty. Earrings are low and could also use a filling.

Be sure to check velocity to see where are numbers stand as far as specific items to focus on and what not.

I was also working on a basket of skuless today, so that needs to be finished up and should still be at the wrap (hopefully brought down to backstock or left secured at the wrap with a nice little note.)

I hope the close goes well. Monday's the start of a new (work) week, so let's kick the floor into shape.

See you Tuesday

We Played Hang-Man

Well, rather, the customers played hang-man with all of our heads.
Another insane night  of the 50% off sale.
On the plus side, we beat goal....wooooo!

Downside was that we hit it out of the park and the results were more than apparent.
We have a ridiculous overflow of hangers because clothes are flying off the racks. There's a bunch at the cwrap and on a rolling rack simply because it was a tossup between turning the breakroom into a zoo of hangers or leaving them in a controlled place at the wrap; Leslie and I decided on the latter.

We had several MPOS orders and a constant, heavy flow of traffic. Leslie and I switched between the floor and the wrap, both of us spending the majority of our time at CashWrap backing up and ringing, ending with myself fulfilling the WACC runs and tidying and Leslie pulling pins and holds, later jumping into the remainder of cashwrap runs and sale, which the entire team (Chaun, Lauren, Kyle, Nick) collectively worked on.

It's in no way perfect. But it's done, and to the relative best of our abilities, getting us out around 11:10 with Cedric holding down the floor and Charley holding down the office.

The floor is soooooooooo low. Openers must fill fill fill (Women's, particurally DENIM and SALE, of course), and if there are any sale bags/accessories left, pleaaase get them onto the floor! Customers are constantly grabbing every marked down bag they can get their hands on, and Sneaker Wedges are a popular shoe, so if they're in the back, put 'em out!

I open Sunday, so yas.

I said...No, No, No!

50% off sale kick off has left me low, down trodden, angry, frustrated, confused, and lost.....

But mostly tired.

To be honest I'm a bit disappointed on my end (to speak for myself) of the close today. There was a boat load of runs and the store was a hurricane all the way up until close. People are merciless for a good sale and it definitely showed. So I'd like to take now to apologize in advance for WACC not looking it's tip-topiest at all. I did my best to touch up and run in a timely manner, but sale and the floor needed a whole lot of TLC and I didn't get to standardize nearly as much as I would have liked to.

I close again tomorrow and I'm hoping for a few more hands to help the day run smooth and controlled to the best of its ability.

SALE. yay!!!

hey guys! So outside of shipment I came super close to completing mark downs on the floor and in back stock. All we have left is a couple of wallets and one boxed shoe. Today is Tuesday, so we got a new slant. Starting Thursday through Sunday we are going to have a 50% off sale sale. So prepare for that.

Have a good night guys!

5/13

Hey guys! So there is a way to combine all of our classes' numbers to determine whether we are generally up, but I don't know how to calculate it, so I won't report on how we did as a department. However, the class departments remain simple. We ended up in hair accessories, beauty, necklaces, hand bags and wallets, other jewelry and we were down in everything else.

We didn't get too much shipment today. I filled TOMS this morning and processed a constant stream of returns. And, although we have mark downs this week, I didn't have the time to start them, so I will do so tomorrow.

Ill be in in the morning.

Son today

Umm so I came in today for a 10-4, yeah that's right Mario was at work before noon. 😏 Nothing too crazy in the beginning. It was slow, I trained Lauren and Chaun at the wrap today. Let's tried my best to be the teacher and let the students learn. I showed them everything I know, let them know how to provide proper customer service at the cash wrap. They are both smart girls and they caught on quick. I believe they just need to learn how to navigate the sku books. That's all I didn't get up too. Towards the end of their shifts it started getting busy. Kat and I held down the wrap as best we could. We had alot of returns today.

Keep providing excellent customer service , pull and separate pins n tags, keep our area clean. Later everyone.

What Could Have Been D-Day!

Hey WACC, today was a bit hecetic.

We were due to have a big visit that everyone was hustling to top the final touches on. The cashwrap remained clear of  runs for about the first 5 hours of my day (any return we got, I processed, and every go-back hung and ran). Towards the latter half it became a bit more difficult to keep every item off the wrap, particurally with pack and ship floating around throughout the day.

As it turned out, we didn't get our much anticipated visit. But that doesn't mean that every day shouldn't be treated as if it's visit day! It's taxing and frustrated to have days, hours, and minutes of hard word not end so anti-climatic, but these things do happen.

That said, this morning I filled panties, placed the on velocity straw panama hat and striped black and white scarf, filled/placed the BDG beanies in olive and black, spot filled scarves, TOMs, and hung some new bandeaus in their wall. There's still quite a bit in the "Fills for Friday" Bin in backstock, but with all of the work that went into making today run relatively smoothely, it wasn't possible to get every item out of that bin.

WACC and MACC were the only two sectors to be up today, so big ups to our team! We're definitely going to end the week up. Sunnies are flying off the wall (so fill 'em when you can) and nail polish is, as always, a hot item. Midi and regular rings are also a top sellar.

Final notes:

1. I open tomorrow so I'll keep filling from the Friday bin/continue my directives.
2. CLOSERS: Please please pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase sepearate hard tags and pins. Not only is it a biotch to reach your hand into a bag of pins when your looking for a hard tag, it's an even BIGGER biotch to have to detatch each and every pin from a hard tag when they're all thrown in there together like one big mess. Not cool and very time consuming. I couldn't even seperate all of them so hopefully someone else can or else that's going to go to waste.

There's a bin of those pins at the wrap.

As always, pull holds, dime out your dime outs, and keep it clean.

See ya tomorrow.~

VISIT TOMORROW

Hey guys. Due to the weather, the day started off very slowly. I spent my morning I pulling and boxing  all the dime out tights from the wall and the fitting room. At the end of my shift I put a make shift "All Sunglasses $10 sign on the mirror above the sunglasses. The sign is huge! I'm sure we'll figure out better placement for it, but it got surprisingly bright by about 2/3, and I hoped we could make some sales. Our visit is tomorrow. Sandra spent some time with us today making sure we are ready for tomorrow.

See you guys in a couple hours.

Quick Tips

Hey guys! I haven't posted in a while and this is going to be a quickie. I just want to update us all on some important information.
1. We had cycle counts this week; a women's tube-top dress, the men's All-Son camos, and a pair of ear phones. We are under one in the dress and three in the camos. The earphones are perfect.

2. We got an 89.3 on our mystery shop, we lost points in the fitting room and the shoe lounge. So, take a loot at it. There will be a few changes to the mystery shop as well. There will no longer be bonus points, everything will round up to 100, and we are now required to give our names when we room customers in the fits. This weirded me out simply because I thought it would sound way too rehearsed; however I was eased at Cedric's suggestion: "Here you are, my name's Abby if you need anything". Not that bad right?

3. Last years shrink result was 2.48. Our GOAL for THIS YEAR is 1.90. YAY!!! We finally have a goal

4. Lastly, as Christine has already noted, all sunglasses will be $10 starting tomorrow, Thursday.

This morning Anni and I worked on organizing the bays. This week each team had had the chance to neatly reorganize its bay, today was ours. Anni was on her own after 10, when I headed up to the reg, but I'm sure she got a lot done.

Have a Wonderful Night!!!! Until tomorrow

BACKSTOCK / FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Wednesday: I spent my day in backstock. With the help of Abby and Garrett we were able to finish it all! The only thing left to do is move the BDG platform outstock shoes from the back of the womens bay to the stand alone bay. They will go on the bottom two shelves. Other then that the boxed shoes could be tidied up but that's about it. EVERY bin is labeled. Please, if you have anything of WACC to go back there, for the love of god place it in the appropriate bin.

Thursday: Abby please try to spend your morning on that tight wall. I really don't want those dime outs to stay out there any longer. If time permits, continue on the tights in the FR (the ones on the bench haven't been scanned). I reallllly don't want it to be two weeks for us to complete these dime outs. Other then that please spot fill. The 'magic wallets' also will go where the ID wallet is in the stanchion so if you can please switch those out as well. The sunglasses promo begins today. Please make sure to fill the sunnies, and add appropriate signage to the peg board. Let's sell through these bad boys..

Friday: Christine, I left a bin of fills in backstock for you. It's a lot of bras, so perhaps start on that first. The bandeaus need to get hung and worked into the voop bra wall next to the panties. If you need lingerie bottom hangers there are some ontop of the lockers in the break room. There is also a black and white scarf, and a hat in there that are yet to be placed. Please ask Morgin for help on placing these. That B&W scarf is on velocity and was pulled from the floor so I'd like to see it get worked back out. The hat is also on velocity. ;)

Saturday: SPOT FILL! Pleaseeee! Utilize your first hour to walk the floor and pull fills. Pay extra attention to: TOMS (in the upstairs FR), sunglasses, beauty, scarves, and bags. Try not to task too hard after 11-12. I'm sure the customers will keep you busy enough. Just PLEASE spot fill that floor while Abby and I aren't here.

As of today, WACC is up +27%.. PLEASE lets keep it this way. FILL YOUR FLOOR, SPEAK FOR OUR PRODUCT, CLOSE OUT FIXTURES PROPERLY. COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER. I'M GOING TO BE SOOOOOOOOOOO UPSET IF I COME BACK AND WE'RE DOWN (UNLESS WE HAD CONSECUTIVE BAD DAYS ON A STORE LEVEL IE, DOWN AS A STORE A FEW DAYS IN A ROW).

Everyone have a great weekend!!
I will see you all Tuesday!
Anni

When in doubt, fill 'er up!

I feel like that title sounds kinda dirty, oops! Anyway, I worked a mid from 1 to 7 yesterday. Abby coursed around back stock to do her WACC biz while I maintained the wrap. She instructed that beauty was to be filled today because that's what was out and (today) would be WACCs turn for a back stock overhaul. I filled nail polish once again, but it's a big seller so whenever and if ever either polish section gets low....fiiiiill. If ever you don't have specific projects/directives....fiiiiill! WACC is up, let's keep it that way.

Also, the new SLANT is up. Read it so you know about new and ending promos. Knowing your promotions helps moves the lines along and...what doyaknow, fights register fraud so you're charging the customers what they owe and not a dime more or less! Because those who frequent the store will definitely come back for their price adjustment.

ONE VERY IMPORTANT PROMO THAT BEGINS ON THURSDAY, 5/9:

Mens and Womens Sunglasses are now $10 dollars! This promo will likely bring in a whole slew of sunnies sales, so push push push and check the Slant for applicable signage.

See yas Thursday,
Christine

Post It Like A Note

Hey WACC Team
I'm officially one of you. And I can post. On my own. No more invading other posts like that unwanted friend Leslie mentioned earlier.

My day isn't over until 4 (totes going to feel like forever, I opted to go vegan today and my stomach isn't thanking me). I've filled nail polish. I cleaned, and it's already dust bunny central again. We need more red(s) and warm(s) to make a complete shelving in the 2 for $8 promo frame, but I'm pretty sure they've sold out. Most of the brown boxes from le office that I've opened are some sort of metallic or green so ya.

I'm going to try and continue spot filling as the day progresses. We've got a bit of backup so hopefully I'll be able to move about the floor and what not. I'll keep ya posted. Liz filled the frigg. outta TOMS yesterday, so that doesn't need to be attended to anymore.

PSPS: The stantions/frames/clusters looked a bit wonky this morning. Make sure we're closing out that wrap well so it's easier to fill without having to maintain much.

PSPSPS: Definitely bought those adorable bunny studs today. In love.

May the Fourth be with you

Ayo and I'm back with some lovely cashwrap tips:
-if you sell shoes and the customer does not want to take the box, please write "sold" on the box. That way if you don't get to trash it right away, there are no questions as to where the shoes have gone.
-pull expired holds at close
-greet customers like they haven't been greeted yet
-as christine mentioned, check the stanchions (def my b this time) keep openers in mind when you're closing
-take hangers down
-make sure you check all the dept run baskets AND the damages and dimeouts. Try and make sure that the merch in the basket are already processed and signed off by a manager, at least by the end of your shift. If not, pass on info to your fellow WACC member(s) **which reminds me there is a pair of sunglasses I found at the end of my shift. No sku but there are more in men's.
-leave a note! When all else fails, leave a note so the next person doesn't wonder what the rando pile of necklaces are. They're most likely tangled but you get it.

Feel free to add more tips to this. Also, once more, anni has posted a closing check list at the wrap. If you don't know, ask!
Love les

Welp. I broke the cashwrap.

Hiiiiii! Ok I'm being a bit dramatic. A bit. Soooo I had some trouble dropping pins last night. The drawer thing at reg 4 has a pin stuck in a weird place so I had trouble sliding the shelving back in. And then there's a screw that keeps the shelving there so i couldn't just remove it. Thus the drawer thing is kinda just there, hanging out like that needy friend you didn't really want to invite out because that friend is kind of a bummer. I'm sorry. I tried to force it out and jam it in...none of the methods were working and I really didn't have much time to strong man it out. Perhaps this can be project one for the day? K love youssss. I shall blog once more with other pertinent info.

Friday/Saturday

I moved the sandals up to the runway this morning. I re-did the shoe lounge wall so now our skippies and mary janes are out. I did not have the chance to continue with dime outs today. Hopefully if I have any free time tomorrow I can finish up the tights. I also scanned through sale and filled that bit while I was in mens my first two hours. I also filled some MACC socks (heeeeeeey shared fate yall!). Christine worked on filling beauty, sunglasses, and jewelry. I began hard tagging the seamless bras but did not get to finish due to the amount of people on the floor. I can't stay in that back lingerie corner for too long because I feel like I'm hiding back there.

Saturday: PLEASE fill TOMS. Fill Nail polish and the back of the beauty frame. Walk the floor for any other spot fills. Please try to keep the wrap as clean as you can through out the day. Blog about your filling ventures. :)

Thursday

Hey guys. I started the day by filling panties and getting some more styles of bandeaus out onto the intimates wall. And....I thought I was finished with bundling our panties and bras, but of course, at the bottom of an inconspicuous bin, I found more bras. However, I am hoping that these are the last. Filling panties is incredibly easy now. You just grab a bundle, unfold it and lay it out. No more searching for panties that are the same style, or taking extra time to size and lay them out. While at the cash wrap I "completed" organizing panties and bras and my last two hours were spent in BS cleaning up, back stocking shipment from this week, boxing dime outs and just whipping that ish into shape! I didn't touch the tights because I knew that wall would turn into an empty headache and because I thought it more important to get our back stock area into shape.

Fills: Hey guys we need to fill everything!!! Outstock shoes (if we can), sandals, sunglasses, beauty, jewelry. Anni has a sandal move to make tomorrow and Christine is our opener, so I'm sure they'll communicate. Sandals and sunglasses can be filled from the wrap.

See you guys tomorrow

Dime outs / Thursday

I got through all the bins in back stock. I moved onto the tights and almost all of them are dime outs. I left off in the back FR with the tights. The ones on the back wall haven't been scanned. The one tray all alone is the only full priced I had found so far. I haven't scanned through the tights on the floor yet, or the sale section. We also have some jewelry dime outs as well. Please continue working on this. The bras can be worked on at the cashwrap. Just ask your floor sup for temporary coverage to run them downstairs.

Sunglasses also need to get filled pretty badly. I come in at 9 on Friday and will be working on this sandal move. But blog about where ever you leave off.

Whew.
Ok see you Friday!
