Could We Be On the Upside? Cross Your Fingers

Hayyo Dearies! I haven't seen the majority of you guys in a while, so a special greeting to those missing in action. If you've worked this week you know that we've been down drastically (41%) to LY for the week. But when I left today, things looked promising, so hopefully we'll make a healthy come back. Between Charley and I think we got all or nearly all of the job outs and markdowns done. We also made sure to fill the floor this morning in cautious and hopeful anticipation of great business; we have to stay positive, right? So, in that spirit we spoke about making sure the floor stays full all weekend. On a more chastising note, we need to be aware of the way we are processing TOMS. They are our departments number one best seller, which means they're also most susceptible to theft. I'm not going to beat a dead horse here, so please revisit Anni's post on TOMS. Other than that, I hope all is well. See you on MOnday!

Slooowww Thursday!

Hello team! For the most part, I completed the new mark downs and worked on getting shipment out. The new sale manifest looks crazy because, sadly, that's how I work. But, let me explain. The items that have 'FINISHED' marked on them are complete on the floor as well as in backstock, then there are items that say 'DON'T HAVE', which I did inventory look ups for (including all sizes, I used the MPOS for that), which simply means we don't have any so I didn't bother to look for them. There are also some items that are labeled 'FINISHED ON THE FLOOR', which means that we still need to check backstock for the rest. Interesting fact, the purple nail polish has two different skus, one which is on sale the other which is not. It seems what happened is some of the purples got the 'winterberry' sku, and some have the correct sku. So some are 99 cents and the others are still full price. There are also some random numbers next to each sku that denote the number we have in stock, most of them say '0' so dont even worry looking for them. If have any question holla. I hope I haven't made this more difficult to understand. I'll see you guys tomorrow.

Oh! Charley, I just saw your note on fills. I looked for directive in the office this morning but didn't think to look on the blog. I'll get to them tomorrow if no one does them at some point today.

-TOMS (we got in a shipment of them) Make sure we are taking the Sku's off the boxes!!!!!
-Beauty
-The shoes on the girls have sale shoes. Please replace with the new ones from today... I left 2 boxes on the table in back stock. Please place on the display wall...
-The displays shoes on the bottom row in the Shoe Lounge- Can be filled with the display shoes in the outstock shoe bay. They are on the bottom row. In tandem.
-Bras
That is all!!!! All shipment have been processed with the exception of 2 boxes of TOMS

A little down much?

Hello Dearies! Good Night guys! How are y'all? Today was very slow. I don't believe we made our day or our LY and with the slow pace of the day we got out really early. 9:30 early! Which, lets be honest, was nice, but it would have been great if we'd made our day. Boohoo! So the close was smooth and simple, all except for one thing. There is a glass container of mixed jewelry and headbands where runs should be and I'm not sure why they are there. If anyone does, lets try and get rid of that, other than that all's well.

        Hey Team!! Last week we ended with a 19.0 up 27. Verses Company down 14. Season to date we are up 12, company is down 3. We are doing pretty well. I want to start off by saying Thank You, All. For all your hard work. Its truly appreciated!! Thank You to Management, Merchandisers and Display!! We are a pretty solid group, we are!!

Now on to the Boogie!!

-This week we will be doing some reconstruction. Within The Shoe Lounge.. Now that the sale is over.. All shoes were put back in tandem. While the display wall has returned it full form. We will be combining the socks and tights on to one A frame. While using the boxes to house socks and tights. Via attributes in the lounge. Placing the Floral print over the knee or the Butterfly Net Tight. For example. The Mary Jane's will move into the table near back stock. Placing the sale Oxford in sale. The TOMS are running low. Please continue to fill them. Pretty soon, we are going to get a massive amount. Next up....

-Abby, is now our new Intimates Specialist... Tuesday, we will take everything off the table and start over. I Rf'd the table and back stock. All the sale will be moved.. We are going to move some Items from the cluster and hook it up. I will go over numbers with you when you get in.

-The wall in zone 2 needs to get a revamp. Anni, I was discussing some changes with Nico. He has some good ideas. We are going to partner up and make the change. Hopefully, we get some cool stuff in. Since that is our New Release Wall. Speaking of new releases, The Front of the Necklace Cluster is suppose is to be new necklaces cluster. Only one new one was on???? Lets gets the new ones on there...BTW, Necklaces, were up 18, Company was down 43! That's awesome!!

This week, we have color firsts and Job outs!! We have a big week ahead!! Its only going to continue.... Get ready!!! There will be more to come.....

BOOM BOOM DA DA DOOP!

Hello, Waccatots!
           -Sooooo, We finished with a 16.6 Up 34 Percent. Company finished up 4. Season to Date we are up 10 Percent Company is Down 2. Lets get it!!! Clearly, TOMS was our bread winner. Athletics up 1087% Sandals up 210% and Casuals up 7%. Yay, for shoes!!! Finally, this has been a struggle. Thank You, TOMS!! and Tom, for that window. All that hard work is shonuff appreciated!!! Sunglasses and Other Jewelry fared well.  Everything else had dismal sales. I'm slightly disappointed with these numbers. We really need to bring those classes back from the brink. We are about to go in!!! I would like to hear from each of you... WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO TO BRING THESE CLASSES UP??!!!! Everything was out? Yes. We filled... Where did we go wrong?

BTW!!!-Intimates.. Bras, Tights, etc... Is still WACC it is not to be neglected. We were up 14.. Bringing in 2.1...

Saturday.......

Let me start off by saying...... Whew!!! Today was a good day!! (In my Ice Cube's voice..) This morning I came in and filled a bit of everything. I open WACC tomorrow and will continue. All the shoes are together.. So, it will be easy to grab and fill. WE MUST STAY ON TOP OF THIS!! We were doing well. We neglected the Shoe markdown's... We dropped the ball a bit. However, we will prevail!! The TOMS window looks awesome!!! That wall can never be empty!!! I was constantly filling it all day. If you are covered in the SL, Please make sure all shoes are filled. We have no more Mary Jane's in backstock. Hopefully we get some in this week!!! I will be moving The BDG basic skimmers downstairs into the Pie piece on the table. All sandals are on the A frames upstairs. I will be updating the SL in the morning. The weather is beautiful!! Folks were pouring in. So, keep it filled!! Lets get rid of this stuff!!! We beat the LY and Goal when I left at 7. I know we rocked it!!! Shout Outs to Kristin and Seth!!!! Also, all who worked today!!!!!

Freaky Friday at STR31

Greetings from Store 31 in the East Village! Just wanted to report back so far about my day. The store is a smaller store but it is very nice and seems well organized. Their cash wrap is pristine but also has less character then ours does. I floor sup'd my first hour and will be doing it again my last hour. They have me ringing a lot which is cool because I'm super comfortable with that obviously. I'm just trying to help out and relieve the managers/other team leads as much as possible. Everyone has been super helpful and friendly to me. Hope everyone is doing well in Brooklyn! See you guys Sunday!

    So, this week has been great!!! As of Thursday we are up 19!! Compared to Monday, we were only up 10. Bloop-Bloop! Welcome back, Abby!!!! Glad you are feeling better!!! I want to take the time to say..."Thank you all for you contributions. I'm so proud of my team!!! Wacc looks great!! The close outs have improved! the standards are better!! The floor has been filled!!! Keep up the great work!!! Aniysa, Thanks for accepting the challenge. I know will do great things with those shoes. I can't wait to hear your ideas!!! Mario, better have some jokes when he gets back!!! Now on to the biddness!!!!

-As we all know 50% off shoes began yesterday. So, we really have to be on top of the arrangement and filling. All the sale display shoes are housed on the glass tables with the signaage. Please maintain the upkeeping. If a diaplay shoe sells. Please, replace it with another sale shoe. Piece of cake!! Only 10 shoe boxes to the sale section at a time., We have like 1 single shoe. We must get it back to 0. 2 bins of sale outstock shoes can go into sale. I'm with you guys this weekend. Aniysa and I will be on top of this. With you guys help, we will rock this. I took to time out to help Savion with the Men's setup. It looks great. Anni, worked her magic with those A frames and The Zone Walls. Looks great!! The photos will be up this weekend. Its stored in the stores camera!! This weekend the focus is that sale and Filling the floor!!! Upkeeping Honey!!!!

Imm BAAAACK! Hello loves! Tonight wasn't too bad, although I would have sworn that we made the day because in the last couple hours the cash wrap was continuously bombarded by customers; however, we were down about 3 thousand to LY and about 4 to Goal :( Sorry. The close ran smoothly, nothing out of the ordinary. Let me note now that I left a note at cash. A customer called after we had closed looking for a "leather" bustier that went on sale a while ago, we have 1 in a medium and 2 in a large, according to inventory, but I asked her to call back tomorrow. So look out for that call and the bustiers if you can. I wrote the sku numbers down in case someone needs a visual. There is a good chance we might be able to run into one of those three, so if we can. lets get rid of it.

50% Off Sale Shoes

HI EVERYONE!

Today I moved a ton of shoes around. Now both A-Frames upstairs are all sandals. I also switched the tights and shoes in the back of zone 2 to create a better flats destination. Lets make sure to keep this full please! I also re-visited the zone 2 wall and spruced it up a bit. Put out any left over shipment from this week including two new clutches and a backpack that came in yesterday. I also got to help Tom (DA) with some display work and assisted him in the Toms (shoes)  display in the window, everyone check it out! Keep in mind with this window the Toms are going to FLY now! Chirp chirp.

Today also started 50% off SALE SHOES! This includes the mens shoes as well. They will not ring through the register so make sure to do it manually. The table tops in the shoe lounge are all sale shoes now. Most of them we have quantity of (except for those dang Jeffrey Campbells, we only have two!). Make sure if you're downstairs you're communicating with the customers which ones are on sale. I don't want any confused customers over this. We also have some casual shoes in sale that are 9.99-19.99 (great deals!). Please PUSH THESE SALE SHOES. Affordable cute shoes = happy customer.

Weekly Directives

-Finished the week +21% vs company which was up 13%.

-Strong classes: 315 Athletics +831% (unreal! Thank you Toms!), 150 travel/backpacks +181%, 140 bras +185%, 157 scarves +23%, and last but not least 162 necklaces (+32%) and 163 other jewelry (bracelets and rings, +56%) were BOTH UP. Shout out to Tom for making us these awesome bracelet stands which clearly our customers are responding to.

-Weak classes: 152 hats -23%, 161 earrings -8%, 151 handbags -19%, 154 small goods -36%, 155 belts -28%, 311 casual shoes -10% (but one of our top money making classes this week at $2.3)

-Move the books on top of the stanchion and create a full display of beauty on top. We need to pull the beauty products from the cluster to use for this. Overstock of these beauty products can go under the nail polish stanchion. This is top priority.

-JEWELRY DIME OUTS! This has to be completed by the end of the week. (I accidentally took the packet home with me, sorry!)

-Tuesday: Shipment showdown as usual and push that shipment out!! Please begin the job outs today and

-Wednesday: Work on beauty stanchion. Also working on re-vamping the wall in the back of zone 2. Moving the boxy bags that are in there now, adding the new clutches we got in today, and possibly the new scallop lace bras to highlight some of the colors.

-Thursday: SHOE DAY! Moving lots of shoes. Switching the tights and the shoes in zone two in the display boxes to create more room for flats in zone 2. In which case I can move a lot more shoes around and have more room to play with. I will also be changing up the display boxes of shoes in the shoe lounge. The blue and floral shoes will be moved and that box will turn into a box for tights. Don't forget we are losing one of the display boxes for Around the World signage!

-Friday: Making sure all shipment is placed and out, everything is processed, dime outs are done... Then... FILL FILL FILL! Particularly: scarves, handbags, backpacks, tights, sunglasses and skippies.

Monday 4/9

I had a short shift this morning. Today we got in: two new bags, three new colors in the scalloped lace bra (hot pink. lemon, and bright green), a new D&O wallet in two colors (which will hopefully live in the back of zone 2  when I'm done with it), replen in gray Mary Janes, a new Deena and Ozzy flat in two colors (similar to the ballet flat), replen in Toms, and JEWELRY (finally!). Whewww.

I participated in shipment showdown per usual, put out some shipment, processed two boxes of Toms, did a walkthrough with Kristin, and began processing jewelry.

As we all read in the SLANT. Wacc markdowns are not until the 16th. As I was getting my education on regarding work. I just happen to click the markdown manifest. Guess what showed up?? New markdowns... 16 pages of them. Luckily, I was AV when I noticed. Tons of Handbag markdowns all the way to some Sandals. I did manage to get a jump start on those this afternoon.I marked the shoes down, only the display shoes. I moved the backstock bags to the sale section. I marked down the ones on the selling floor.. However, a lot of bags are on sale. Which means new homes for bags. I will be moving some wacc around. So, that it is definitely shop appropriate.So, this means... This weekend, We must have our markdowns completed by Sunday night. Anni, will be opening on Monday. Please blog any details about this weekend. Sale, What was filled, What needs to be completed. I need all of you to be on top of this blog. Seth, has brought this amazing form of communication to the table. To me, Its the best!!! I open Saturday, I will not be in until Tuesday morning. It's A Toms Life

Hello WACC-ers,

This morning I filled and continued on processing the Toms. Now ALL the Womens Toms are binned by size and labeled on the outside of the bin. They are also organized by colors and styles. All solid colors together, and all what I will call "speciality" Toms together. There are two boxes left over from shipment that are also Toms that I began processing but did not have time to finish. These need to be processed, and organized according to bins before the weekend ends. I also spent time helping standardize part of zone 2 for the womens floorset picture Gabby had to take this morning.

We need to make sure...

1. People who buy TOMS are getting the TOMS bag and sticker. (under register 5)
2. The shoe security tags are being dropped in the smaller square hole on the top of the cash wrap.
3. EVERY pair of TOMS is tagged!! If someone returns one, TAG IT... Immediately!
4. That every pair has a TOMS hook and not an 'urban' shoe hook.

Perfect Close?

Good Night and Early Morning WACC loves! Needless to say I am exhausted. We perfect closed the Women's floor tonight and didn't get out until a little after twelve. To be honest, I don't know how perfect everything came out; I wouldn't say that I'm confident about tonight's close, but we had a late close due to last minute purchases and a HUGE online return that had me processing merchandise till long after 9. I just hope Gabby's not pissed tomorrow. Anywho, time for bed.


P.S. We were down by about 3-4 thousand dollars tonight, and we did over three thousand in returns. What can you do, with the good days come the bad.

Good Night dear WACC masters! Firstly, let me say that we nearly doubled LY tonight and were up 72 percent to goal. HOOT HOOT! So, needless to say, we did great today, while, which has been the latest trend, staying relatively 'slowish' in terms of foot traffic. I was all over the place within my first couple hours and at cash wrap toward the end of my shift. I want to make two notes, the first being that Mario force marked a couple piecey women's items tonight, ending their prices with ".96" and high lighting their skus. The highlighting of skus will supposedly be the new indication that an item has been force marked, so lets be mindful of that. Secondly, I have a proposal: I've realized over time that people are accepting online returns and then leaving the items in their bags, no hard tags and no soft tags (ugh!). We need a new policy. As an official member of the WACC team I can't work in Men's or Women's and create more work for the Men's and Women's associates. I think this an issue of Shared Fate, part of a return is processing the merchandise... so why isn't that getting done? Just food for thought> Love you guys.....Till tomorrow.

Thursday, Friday & Saturday!

Hiya!!!!

        Just a few details that we need to have done in Wacc this week.
-Please make sure all Wacc shipment is placed and backstocked by end of day on Friday.
-TOMS will be sorted by size and color in bins (labeled).... Anni, will be starting this tomorrow.
-The Shoe lounge will be losing a few windows for the ATW signage. The box that is currently housing the crochet flats... Is going away. Please continue to fill it until we actually lose it. The Crochet styled socks need to be replaced with a more shop appropriate attribute. As well as, the hair accessories. Which should head back upstairs.
-The Wacc Cluster is being redone, Please tone down the bracelets on the new stand that we have... Reference the floor set guide for these. Beauty needs to be fully present and represented on the top stanchion. Please work the Owl lip balm and Contact cases into the cluster. So, that the top of the stanchion can represent nail polish. Photos will be taken. So, this must look great!!!
-The Wacc wall in zone 2... Is getting an attribute reduction.. First, the San Diego Cloche (both) can be moved into the pie piece of the Wacc Cluster... In the back. We can work some actual merchandise for that zone. It should house Neon, Moto and Mint. The bright color socks on the wall are selling down.ets move the bright socks off the A frame up to that wall.

TOMS

Greetings my fellow WACC-ers. Today we got a lot of replen in TOMS! Which is exciting because they've been selling like hot cakes and we've been running out of sizes. Speaking of TOMS, the security tags should be on the left TOM, through the flap that says "TOMS". When customers purchase them the security tags should go in the bottom left slot that looks like a square. This way when we get new ones in it's way easier to find them. I audited the TOMS wall today and made sure everything was in order and tagged.

TOMS fact of the day: You can handwash your TOMS with warm water and soap to clean them.

Hayoooooo!!!!! Good Night my Waccinators! I worked a 4 to close tonight. The close wasn't too bad. One imortant note, there are some new scarves in three colors that Charley had placed on the vignette with the S&N blazers. I removed them and replaced them with what was originally there because their skus are not ringing up in the system. Seth contacted company and they should be updated and working tomorrow. So.... check that they work tomorrow morning and if so, put them back on that vignette. Thanks

and Beaded headbands in two colors which are on the A frame near the cashwrap

Everything got out and I back stocked the extra scarves and the extra skimmers.

Closing Checklist

1. Clean out all product from behind cash wrap. 
2. Sweep around the cash wrap, colorox phones and keyboards, and collect trash.
3. Check the customer holds and run the old holds.
4. Run the damages & dime outs into the stockroom (underneath the desk).
5. Seperate department runs. Run ALL WACC. Make sure to check the fitting room for WACC runs!
6. Close out all WACC on the floor. Pay close attention to the WACC cluster, the WACC wall up front, all the A-Frames, the shoe lounge, the back of zone 2, the belt wall, and the scarves and handbags, seeing as how they are displayed everywhere. 
7. Make sure every form has a pair of shoes. If not, find them a pair.
8. Check hanger bars & bags.
9. Check EAS and make sure it was completed for that day. (this is a newer one)
10. Help out with womens/mens!
