Friday

Please continue to work on WACC in back stock. We have at least 1-2 boxes back there. I also think I left some misplaced scarves back there if you could find them a home or back stock them for me.

During the day please work on jewelry. I'd like to spice the table up and move some of the sale necklaces together and pull new styles forward on the pegs. Maybe we can make some of the back pegs just house sale necklaces. Please feel free to play around with the table top as well, as well as the neck stands. We don't have much jewelry in the office but work with what we got.

*REVIEW INFORMATION*

It is imperative the entire team completes their self reviews and their 360 reviews before next Wednesday. The self review is avilable in the break room. When completed please place them in the designated envelope in the office. The 360 reviews can be done online and those will be you reviewing Abby and myself. PLEASE make sure to have these in by next Wednesday... if you want to possibly get a raise ;)

Please see Coreys post on the store blog for more info.

When you make your bed you have to lie in it......

Hey guys. Let's lead with good news. Our department is finally up this week!!! Yay! It was a slow progression but we're there again. I came in at 10 this morning. We only had one box of shipment, so I processed it and finished processing and placing the jewelry form yesterday. We got some cute new styles of panties, a couple replenished styles, an ombre lace bra in two colors (Cutes!!!) a peach color lace bandeau and a new blue and white polka dot zip-around wallet (new color, not new style). I wanted to get to the undies but I spent some time in bs getting shipment into the bays and when I came back up they were gone. So I guess someone back stocked them. However, the panty wall is light so if I can't fill it with some new styles tomorrow morning, there will be a directive for Friday or the weekend. It was kind of slow today, Sandra came in for a visit, Anni and Savion caught three girls shop lifting, called the cops and two of the girls got arrested, sad but that's what happens and someone returned  500 dollar chair and ottoman set; these are the highlights of the day.

See you guys tomorrow

Beautiful Day!

Hey guys! Weather wise, today was a nice day, thus, possibly in response to the sun and increased temperature, more people came out to shop in comparison to the last couple days. We got a good amount of returns, so I can't guess today's outcome, but hopefully we did well.

The scarf we got in yesterday came in solid black today, we got some new valentines day rings, one says love, the other is shaped in a heart. We got two new styles of midi rings, a new itty bitty purse in three colors with long chain straps and a new color of nail polish. We also got some warm weather scarves, one style in four colors and the other in two colors. Corey got the black scarf out, but we had a little trouble finding homes for the other scarves and the purses. Placing them is a little tough since they come in more than three colors. I'm coming in a little earlier tomorrow, 10, so I'll work with Corey on finding a place for them.

See you guys tomorrow.

-12% / Back of House / Closes (cont.)

We ended the week -12% which is decent considering the beginning of the weekend we were down -33%. Overall scarves, travel, and handbags tanked. Boots and jewelry seemed to do pretty well.
Tonight was really dead so I updated the shoe lounge again, and I switched the sneaker table with the heels table to accomdate more styles of sneakers. I also worked on filling in the lingerie table which now house mary janes and more bras. Hopefully we'll see an increase on intimates this week. Also, with valentines day coming up we want to make sure we have our bras and panties filled ;). I put out some new red bras so hopefully the ladies will respond to those.

Let's talk about back of house. KEEP. IT. CLEAN. I'm going to be walking the break room, the stock room, and the office from now on. Granted, I know we don't have the hours to stick around for extra time but I want to increase our cleanliness. Seriously, this place is starting to gross me out. THERES NO REASON WE SHOULDNT KEEP THINGS ORGANIZED. Simple things like: running merchandise to the appropriate home, not leaving behind damages/dime outs (or ditching them in the wrong spot on back stock), keeping the cash wrap cleared, doing all runs at the end of the night, IF YOU SEE WACC FLOATING AROUND IN BACKSTOCK.. HEY GUESS WHAT. THAT'S YOUR DEPARTMENT. PUT IT AWAY. Where is your department pride???

Anni

Jan 28

Hey guys and gals! Welcome to the last week of the month! February is almost here. And time continues to elude us. Speaking of time, the store was pretty slow during my shift. I noticed that people were shopping and spending cash, but foot traffic was light. Corey is back! He opened this morning and processed our shipment. It seems we got replen of a SAS scarf in three colors that we had a few of and replen in the "Supreme Bitch" snap back. When Anni came in at 2 she brought me a couple fills and I made a fill list but never got the opportunity to pull them for filling.

I'd like us to be aware of anyone returning that UNIF leather and cheetah print velvet jacket without a receipt. I've returned two so far and I know Anni has returned one as well. Though the two I took back came back from two different customers, I have a feeling they work together. Anni described the customer she took the jacket from and her description resembles the lady from today. I have notified Corey and he asks that if we get another return of this item without a receipt, CALL A MANAGER!

Other than that, everyone have a great night!

Saturday

It was so dead tonight I was able to update the SL myself. ;)

So I'd like you to work on a few things:

  1.  fill tights!! Any weird/opened packaging can be replaced with fresh new boxes. Fill dem bad boys. Remember to set aside opaque tights for the upstairs frame.
  2. Help Charley with backstock!!
  3. Continue going through the piecey WACC/MACC sale bins on the desk in back stock. Nandi got through a good amount of them today and last night. Please continue working on them through the morning and I'll be in to help around 10.

Weekend Directives

THIS WEEKEND:
A few things need to happen.

  1. Friday morning: Please continue to work on the piecey WACC/MACC bins. Please also spot fill your floor. Look out for sale gloves, scarves, and hats. ITS COLD. I'll be in at 2.
  2. We need to wrap up shipment by Friday. Meaning the little bit we have left needs to be placed if its not out, and then backstocked. Abby and I got through most the rest of it today. The only thing that didn't get out is a new open toe flat in two colors, which I think can go on the second a-frame downstairs. Then the real doosey, the sandals. ITS TOO SOON. That's all I'm saying. It's January. They need to be processed and backstocked regardless. There is enough room in backstock if we continue to consolidate our gloves and sock bins.
  3. SATURDAY Leslie, please update the shoe lounge display with all current full price shoes. Or as many as we can fit on the table, which should be all of them. Afterwards, please work on single shoes. I'm moving them into the second mens FR downstairs but we need to keep it under control from now on. Please walk the floor and try to pair up as many as you can and run them.
  4. Sunday. Please fill as appropriate. Any free time should be spent filling the floor, or maintaining our backstock. I would like to make sure WACC is 100% in backstock by Sunday. The floor is completely filled, and the cash wrap is completely cleared.
Let's talk about our closes shall we?
I know when it's late at night all we can think about is getting out and going home, right? Right. Newsflash, the store is completely dead right now. There is NO excuse we should be having shady closes. Today I came in and gutted the cash wrap and filled half the counter behind the cash wrap with runs. There were THREE DAYS worth of pins and hard tags behind the cash wrap. Take it downstairs. There are three house wears returns that have been sitting behind the cash wrap for days.. Why do I not see skus? What are they? Shouldn't we run them? I just don't understand, it's getting out of control. It's not just the managers responsibility to conduct a good close, it's a large responsibility of the associate of each department to close out their department properly. I will be re-posting opening and closing check lists for the entire team to access. I am going to try to find space at the cash wrap to conceal the list so it can stare us all in the face...

Anni

Long time no see!!!

What up, wacc??? Just your former department manager here giving a briefing on what's been going on this week. I have spent my first 2 hours in wacc. Monday through Wednesday... Do, I miss it??? Anyways, I have worked on y'all shipment, removed the fixture ID's from backstock and bra and panty world. Got a good jump start on your markdowns... I found some cool jewelry on sale... All tights in backstock are off table. Tonight, Nandi will work on the piecey bins in backstock... Its been fun!!! But I miss my Men's floor!!! Charlestonian AKA NeNe!!!

Tuesday 22

Hey ya'll! Happy Tuesday! Today was a lot more productive than yesterday. Between Charley, Anni and I, we processed all the unprocessed shipment that was sitting at the cash wrap and the new boxes from today. So outside of of ringing, I spent most of my time just prepping things for placement. I also 'placed' two items onto the floor, but we all know how I am with placement. These post are short, I know, but that's the nature of a weird mid shift.

Have a good night guys!

TGILDOS (Thank God It's The Last Day of The Sale!)

Hey guys. So I walked into my shift with most of our shipment unprocessed and unprocessed returns. Because we are scraping for hours there wasn't a WACC opener, so Charley worked on our shipment for a bit, but for the most part it is incomplete. I don't know how this weekend was, but we need to try harder to complete online returns. While I was able to get some of them done, I had enough returns from today to process. Cedric! You were a huge help today. Thank You. Anyway today was INSANE. It never seemed that there were many people in the store, but the line was long ALL DAY!! When Cedric came in at 2 he was stuck at the wrap with me for most of my shift. So very little got done. I apologize, but the day didn't allow for it, so hopefully tomorrow will allow for more.

Scary Sunday

This really concerns me. Why are WACC openers walking into this? Unfortunately shipment was not finished, and the shoe lounge was not audited, due to unfinished WACC runs and an immense amount of online returns that had not been processed. I really don't understand this.

Weekend System

This morning Jen and I worked on shipment. We were able to process all the rest of the boxes except the 'love me' bags. Tomorrow I will work on backstocking the rest of the shipment. Everything is out except some of the backpacks which I will also get to tomorrow. Shipment should be 100% out and backstocked before Sunday night. Jen was able to get a bin of sale gloves out onto the floor, we have so many! I hope they fly!

Unfortunately Jen nor I were able to get to the shoe lounge display which got really sad looking through the course of the day. ***PLEASE throw some shoes on that display table!!!**** The tables really need to be audited so every shoe that's in backstock can be represented on the floor. I would like our weekends to go accordingly from now on:

FRIDAY: MAJOR FILL DAY / WRAP UP SHIPMENT
SATURDAY: BACKSTOCK MAINTENANCE / FILLS
SUNDAY: SINGLE SHOES / DISPLAY SHOES

I think if we get into this habit we can really start buckling down on our backstock, our single shoes, and making sure everything is displayed. Also, that way if you open on the weekend you'll already in advance know what to work on. We really need a system to help with our backstock and our shoes!

Leslie, I would like you to work on the shoe lounge table. Please audit the shoes and make sure they are all represented. If you could also get through the last box of shipment that's to be processed, that'd be amazing. The "love me" bags are all that haven't been tagged, and they have a specific date to go on the floor, so we can immediately backstock them. I imagine it'll get busy early on. If theres any hope for tagging that box, it would be ASAP when we open.

Anni

WEEKEND DIRECTIVES

1. Wrap up the rest of shipment. Got through most of our boxes yesterday. We have about 4 left, mostly panties, jewelry, and sunglasses.

2. Fill WACC Sale - sale toms, and we're going to add a bin of sale gloves in the sale section for the weekend. 50% off hellooo!

3. Audit shoe lounge for shoes that are not out on display. The table has clearly sold down and has not been filled yet.

4. This will probably have to wait for Morgin on Monday, but I also wanted to add a mirror to the sunnies frame.

5. Other then that, spot filling will be happening through out the weekend.

WOOOOOOO. YEAHUH. I will post again later.
:D

Business as Usual

Hey dolls. Inventory is finally done! I know we've all been working really hard. So it is a relief to say good bye to sku checking and sku finding. However, I hope we have learned a long term lesson about skuless items. It is so much easier to find a missing sku right now than it will be this time next year. There are mobiles in each department, men's, the cash wrap and the fitting room, so let's stay on skuless. No more turning a blind eye, cool?

Today business came back to a state of normality minus the fact that we got double shipment on a Friday. But I think each department did a pretty good job processing and placing what they got. WACC got all new items, new wedged Nike sneakers, new bags, new flats and SANDALS (yes we are getting to that point of the year), new back packs, new jewelry, new spring boots, and replen in underwear. I was able to process most of the bags and some of the back packs and all of the Nikes. I also processed some of the new skimmers. However, Anni took care of most of the placement.

Based on what she completes, Anni will leave directives for the weekend. I hope everyone has a stress free weekend. Have some fun! Enjoy your weekends!

Sku, SKu, Sku

Hey guys. welcome to Inventory week. It's been a busy January and judgement day is only three days away. Everyone has been super helpful with skuless items, despite the fact that the piles seem to be getting bigger rather than smaller. When I came in today Leslie and Nico were working on skuless and they got men's and housewares done. I started my day by sku checking WACC. I got through both jewelry displays and the belt wall. Corey wanted me to get to the WACC a frames as well but I never got that far. When Leslie left I was at the wrap for the rest of my shift. I wish I would have gotten more skuless done but there were so many returns today and most of the skus I made were for these. However, prep will continue into tomorrow and there is still more work to do. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

The Final Countdown

ALL THE TIGHTS ARE OFFICIALLY OUT OF THE FITTING ROOM DOWN HERE! WOOOOOO. Andy spent his day going through the WACC bays in backstock prepping for inventory. I was working on clearing out the mens fitting rooms of all product. As of right now I still have about two boxes of sale outstock shoes, and 3 boxes of sale tights. The sale tights are going to have to probably stay in boxes. I put a bin of sale tights on the floor we just need to continously keep checking it so we can fill it! The issue I had with the WACC sale is even after Abby pulled dime outs from that FR, we still had so many sale boxes! I filled WACC sale but it was already pretty full. We ran out of bins, which was my next idea: to super organize it by bins and put it in the WACC bay on the side we hadn't touched yet. However, without any extra bins I couldn't do that. SO, the rest of my shift will be spent organizing the side of the WACC bay that's left. Hopefully while organizing it I can condense and create a bin or two to help house the sale shoes that can't fit on the floor. Worse case scenario is we would have to leave them boxed in backstock. I really rather it not have to come to that.

To help prep for backstock inventory Morgin wants us to bag up all the gloves on the floor, bin them in backstock, and put back out our sunglasses. This will help during backstock inventory because sunglasses are quite annoying to bag/seperate/count. Gloves are fluffy and easier to work with. I had Jasmyne begin working on that. For some reason I feel like the sunglasses might not get completely filled tonight. So please make sure they get filled if it's not finished out tonight.

Other then that I think inventory prep is going very well. I closed last night and was able to sku check a good chunk of the floor. I think if the closing managers and team continue to sku check through out the night that will be most beneficial

FRIDAY MORNING: Leslie, I'm pretty sure Corey will have you working on sku-less all day. Please also fill the sale tights, if any sold down. I just put them out today so there might not be enough room, but if there is please fill them because we have so many sale tights! They just need to be marked and thrown in that bin in sale. If they haven't sold down much yet, wait for Saturday morning and then fill them. I will have the boxes clearly labeled in backstock. Also, please make sure the sunglasses frame gets filled in if it's not already. :)

Exactly One Week Away......

Hey guys. I took care of shipment today and worked on getting jewelry out for the better part of my day. I scanned sale jewelry for dime outs and for the most part all of the sale jewelry have dimed out. I didn't work on any mark downs or the dime outs in the fitting room downstairs, but they need to be complete by Friday. The day wasn't that busy but I processed shipment throughout the morning so there wasn't much time for me to work on the floor. So it was a Waccy day. Nothing too much out of the ordinary.

I do have one note though. When we are closing we need to close out ALL of our sections or walk ALL of our sections and make sure that everything is in its place. This helps with Inventory because everything is in it's respective place, but it also helps us because we don't have to do it in the morning when there are a hundred other things we need to work on. So places we have been missing consistently are the shoe lounge, the bra, tight, and glove frames on both floors and between men's and WACC, sunglasses. To be honest this is beyond team pride, its our job. That's it. I don't want to get snippy with individual closers so read this post and get it. I'm not going to post about this again.

Have a good night guys! See ya'll tomorrow

Welcome back Leslie!!!!!!

50% off Sale Shoes!!! Yeah!!!

Hey WACC Brooklyn! Good Night! I hope everyone is well.

Shipment was light this morning. We got replen in TOMS, new animal face skimmers in two colors, pink and white, and some jewelry. Shipment from today is complete and the things from yesterday that I left at the cash wrap have been tagged/placed/back stocked. So there should be no random boxes or bins from the past two days at the wrap tomorrow morning. We have new markdowns as well this week. I have started these, but I haven't gotten that far. The 50% off shoes promo started today instead of Thursday so Anni worked on sale for the first part of her morning and dime outs. We have TONS of dime outs. These need to be worked on this week in addition to markdowns and skuless and sku checking WACC. So there should be no such thing as down time between now and next Friday. As I worked on mark downs I also worked on making skus for skuless sale, it took a little longer but it has to be done.

Tomorrow I will continue to work on sale and since the bs crew will be in bs prepping WACC for inventory, hopefully I will be able to get more done in relation to mark downs. If Anni doesn't get to it today I will also check sale jewelry for dime outs.

Until tomorrow, Buenas Noches!

Count down to Inventory

Hey guys. I worked on shipment this morning. The box and bin I told Mario he could leave at the wrap is jewelry, a bag and katy perry lashes that I will take care of tomorrow. I filled gloves and fleece lined footless tights today with all intention to fill tights in general, BUT, the fitting room where I stacked all my beautifully organized tight trays have collapsed and are preventing me from getting in. So, instead of using my whole day cleaning this particular mess up, I worked on skuless instead. I started with the shoe lounge, getting all the display shoes skued and then moved on to the bins at the cash wrap. Recounting this reminds me that I have yet to sku check the display shoes upstairs. Other than skuing, there were a lot of returns today, thus the label printer was busy. We are up 50+ percent so far this week. Filling is essential for us aside from prepping for inventory so I will be trying harder to get as much done every morning, but realistically I can't do it alone, so when we're closing or midding and we see something that needs filling please find a way to do so.

Also, if we haven't, please take a look at Anni's last post; there is important info in there. Have a good night ya'll!

Just Another Day for your friendly neighborhood Mario

okay so today was your average closing shift... ringing, close out the store, tried to handle some sku-less items during free time. I helped our fearless leader with a bit of the sku-less jewelry. We gotta shape up guys. Keep the wrap clean. We need to be rid of these pesky sku-less bins and we gotta get ready for inventory.... gunna go ahead and sign out cause I'm tired and I wanna watch this Knick game n then goto work again tomorrow. :)

-Goodnight.

INVENTORY PREP WORK

OK GUYS. SO WACC is kind of tricky come inventory season. Why? Because unlike Womens and Mens who can bundle fold their items we have to bin and bag our items. To help better prepare us Morgin and I have constructed a list of things that need to get done before inventory time.

  1. SKULESS/SINGLE SHOES. We have about 4-5 bins of single shoes in backstock. That's not to take in to account any that might be on the floor. Saturday morning I am going to begin working on pairing these up. I will leave off with how far I've gotten. Just so everyone knows the single shoes go into bins in backstock underneath the 'online returns rack'.
  2. GUTTING THE CASH WRAP. This duty is being placed upon us because this IS our territory. This means we have to pull ANY AND ALL product out from that cash wrap. No hidden tangled jewelry, no weird sample candles, or electronics. Nada. There is also a bunch of nail polish up there that has to come down into the office.
  3. BEAUTY/OFFICE. Luckily, the office beauty and jewelry isn't too crazy. However, the issue we're going to have here is the nail polish. Each box of nail polish has a different color inside. We need to go through and organize these boxes by color. Each box of nail polish has a code number on the top which represents what color is on the inside. This will make it easier when sorting through them that way you don't have to continously keep opening the box to see the color. I will go into more detail on organization of the office with whomever is going to be doing this task. Also, jewelry could use a good fill which I'm sure will eliminate at least one basket back there.
  4. TIGHTS. So here it is. The tights situation has finally come back to bite us in the butt. But not really. We just need to get in there and organize the boxes.
  5. TANGLED JEWELRY. We need to make sure all jewelry is sku'd and untangled. Morgin went through and untangled the t-stand that has been at the cash wrap. Mario and I went through and sku'd the jewelry we found without sku's.
The other elephant in the room is the skuless bins. We need to have someone constantly working on these bins. The sku book seems to have been updated recently and I actually had no problem findind everything I was looking for earlier.. We also need to make sure we're sku'ing items as we go throughout the night.

No mo 'ol promo!

Hey guys the majority of our promos ended today, so that includes the $29 suede KB pumps, the select boots for $39, and the $19 flats. For the most part they are all on the markdown manifest. But my goal is to have the markdowns completed by the end of the day tomorrow. I took down all the old signs and started signage for our new promos; all backpacks $39, and starting the 10th all sale shoes 50% off. I originally put the 50% off sign up but Andy corrected me, so though sign is made it is in the break room waiting to get put up on the 10th. The remaining promos that are either permanent or tbd are: 2 for $20 texting gloves, 2 for $20 tights and socks, 2 for $8 nail polish etc. You guys know which promos are permanent, if not take a sneak peek at the slant. So there should be no confusion!

Like every other day I worked on shipment this morning. We got more of the pointy suede skimmers, replen in the red lace-up cooperative flats, a new knit and fabric eternity scarf, replen in the bdg canvas backpack, a new blue stone washed Jansport backpack, new and replen panties and bras, a new chandelier earring, a new lilac color in the clutch/chain strap purse that's hanging out with the wallets and replen in a black purse with a braided wrist band. While I was at the cash wrap I was able to markdown some of the belts and some of the fanny packs. I back stocked everything but a small box of Mary Jane's and was able to place everything as well. Tomorrow Is markdown day.

See you guys then.

Have a good night!

January 2013!!! WOooHOOoooo!!!!!

Hayo! Hi everyone. I hope you all had a great New Year's Eve and New Year's day. Happy 2013!!!! Today somewhat foreshadows what the rest of the next couple months tend to be like. The morning was pretty slow, which is disappointing for business but good for projects. Thus, I was able to complete processing and placing shipment and towards the end of my shift I started working on markdowns. We have A LOT of markdowns. A good portion of our gloves are on sale, almost all of our boots, a handful of bags and wallets, and there are a couple pages of belts. I only got to the bags, wallets and gloves on the sale floor, but I will continue working on them tomorrow, and if I have any time away from the cash wrap tomorrow I will try and start markdowns in BS after I markdown the shoes. I have no idea what shipment is going to look like but we'll see. There is a new slant and new 60% off items for the month of January, so take a look at these. Tomorrow a few promos end, the $19 skimmers, the $39 boots, so those signs will come down tomorrow as well. I think that covers everything. Have a great night All!
