Sales, Sales.......

Hi hi! Good evening everyone. I made it! It feels like a miracle. I felt myself getting better late last night so I contacted Corey to let him know that I would try my best to come in. However, I actually got in late because when I got home last night I crashed and didn't remember that I had changed my alarm from its usual time. I got in minutes before 8 but I got to work right away. I filled the sale scarves I didn't get to yesterday and while Jasmyne was reorganizing sale I price checked and furthered mark downs for women's and WACC. I also filled the promo boots in sale. Please note that the bdg chelsea like boot that comes in the olivey and black colors are included in the $39 promo. I realized this late in the day when I was looking at the slant and forgot to do it myself. So those should find their way to the shoe lounge as early as possible tomorrow morning. In addition, we have a couple promos ending on January 3rd, so look out for these as well. Between 11 am and 1 pm I worked on the jewelry peg wall in the office. There is sale and full priced jewelry on the wall and I made a small sale jewelry presentation on the jewelry cluster upstairs. After my break I rang for an hour.

So aside from getting the bdg booties out into the shoe lounge, I think it is a good idea to get some of our sale tights into sale. I pulled a box from the second men's fitting room this morning but didn't get to planning how we'd get them onto the floor. We can put them in bins for the remainder of the sale, but to be safe collaborate with tomorrow's opening manager on this question. Anni if you read this please leave any suggestions in relation to this issue please.

Alrighty chidlen,

Good Night! Have a great weekend and if I don't see you before Tuesday

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

:(

hey guys! it felt like the longest day ever! On my way in I started to feel a slight headache and by 10 my whole body was aching. You know what they call that? the FLU!!!! I take sickness pretty badly, so I am so sorry to all those I bugged and complained to today. You guys are champs ;). Anywho, in relation to business. We are up 95 for the week! We didnt get too much shipment just a new faux suspender tight, replen in the red opaque tights, two new colors in the seamless bra, replen in those single 6 dollar studs, new ear cuffs, and replen in the fleece lined footless tights. The 30% off sale started today on all sale merchandise so i filled sale shoes and was about to fill scarves but didnt get to it, so continue filling tomorrow and through the weekend. for the most part Mario and I worked on finding skus in between customers today. I think we made a good dent in the piles, but there are still many more. It is healthy to assume that we will all be participating in this project for the next couple days. And that's that.

I called just now and spoke to Cedric. Based on how I feel now I dont know if i'll make it tomorrow,  but ill try and stay in touch. Alrighy i'm going to take some meds and call it a night. love y'all. Lets hope I will see you guys tomorrow :)

30% off sale!

Today starts 30% off sale! It lasts until New Years. I came in for a closing shift today and spent a good hour and half cleaning up WACC sale. I was also able to fill and re-organize the bags and scarves a  bit. Hopefully our sale bags sell for us. Hopefully we see an increase with bags over this week. People haven't been shopping the sale bags very much, but maybe with 30% off that $39.99 price point doesn't sound too bad.

Shipment I'm told was light today. We could really use some replen in some of our velocity items so I hope we get more fun stuff tomorrow or next week.

Something I wanted touch on briefly is the ca$h wrap. We have got to make a better attempt at keeping the back of the warp tidy and clean! If you have a crazy line, or it's super messy, call for support. For example, don't pile hangers behind you on the back of the wrap, hang them on the pull out where the tissue paper goes. Organize the runs up there by dept, fold them down, keep it cleannnn!

Day after Christmas

Hey guys. I'm sad I couldn't be with you guys the day before Christmas. But I hope you all had an enjoyable day and got all you'd hoped for. Based upon how light merchandise was when I came in it would seem that perhaps a couple people out there got everything and more. WACC was insanely light, which is great. So far this week we are up 400+ percent, so Sunday and Monday must have been crazy. Even today customers continued to shop. I was expecting the great return rush to begin today, but I rang up a couple exchanges and a lot of purchases, so people are still at it. We opened at 8 this morning, but our first customers didn't start strolling in till around 9:30. We only got two boxes today and when I came in Julia had already started cleaning. She moved all the mats behind the cash wrap and swept for us. So thank you Julia! Besides ringing in the 10 o'clock hour and for the 2 o'clock hour, I filled the floor. I filled scarves, bags, beauty, hats, tights and towards the end of the day I started reorganizing and filling gloves. It was busy at 2 so I back stocked the bins of gloves I was working on and let Anni know where I had left off.

So until tomorrow!
Have a good night guys!

Jus one of those days...

So today wasn't a bad day, it was just very exhausting... Came in for my 4-cl and began to handle business. The store wasn't busy, there was simply a consistent flux of customers at the wrap. The counter got very crowded with returns and runs. With Anni and C-Stacks help, we together got it under control. Before we knew it, bammmm!! Its 9pm. So I'm working to get the DRs sku-ed and the business just keeps coming to me.. I think it was my cologne :) PS I LOVE the TAGGING MACHINE oh and we made goal, so thats a plus. Go Team! There were several damages found after the registers were closed, that's what the pile is behind the wrap is... sorry I'm not usually one to leave anything.. Comiin in tmrw to close again so ill ttyl lemme know how it was..

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY

Good morning lady.

I know we talked about the tights earlier this week. I would spend your morning starting by seperating the tights in the FR. It should be easy to fill/re-organize the tights frame downstairs while you're going through the tights in the boxes. I feel like this will take a good portion of your morning.

Please please please make sure to fill as soon we open/you have time. I made a fill list for beauty, this has been a pretty big seller for us recently as well. Particuarly the elf pallettes need to be filled along with, dry shampoos, the little beauty book, nail polish, hair combs, and most importantly HAIR CHALK. Which I didn't put on the frame. We have a bunch on the very top shelf in the office to the right.. near the nail polish. But please make sure to fill beauty. Also, I found some unprocessed jewelry at the cash wrap near register 1's tissue paper. Please process these or have the WACC mid process them/work on jewelry. There is also a basket of jewelry in the office that could be worked onto the jewelry frame. If there is a mid please task them with the beauty and jewelry fills so you can work on the floor in other places. Other then that please spot fill per usual. I will be in at 12 to help out with more fills.

Thanks!! :D
Anni

Supposedly, the day before the end of the world....

Hi dearies! We had a visit today. Sara, Cara and Heidi came by this afternoon as I was leaving. So I have no report or anything, but they were hear today. I'm assuming there will be some report on their visit soon. Shipment was very light today. In total we got 8 boxes, two of which were WACC. We got in smaller sizes of the JC's we started receiving yesterday, replen in footless fleece lined tights, a new coin purse in two colors; black and orange, more nail polish, replen in the red lace panties and three new bras. We didn't have a mid today so I worked the cash wrap all day. But it was a relatively good day. Customers seemed to be spending a lot on housewares, so hopefully we will see the numbers for that department increase. Speaking of numbers as of yesterday we are down on the week by 50%!!! They are pretty ugly figures, but it seems that company wide we are struggling this week across the board. I know we all want to see our department rebound so simple things like keeping the floor filled, closing WACC out correctly, providing customer service and reminding customers of our promos; WACC, men's and women's, will help us out. Yesterday I referred to Morgin's plan to turn the voop wall downstairs into a back pack wall for us, however, it seems she has changed her mind. As I was leaving I saw that she started bringing some of our hidden bags back onto the floor, so tomorrow I will inquire into her new plans for back packs. Other than that I hope everyone is doing well. Those of you who are still taking exams I hope all goes well. And for those of you already back home, please enjoy yourselves and take care. I will see you when I see you!

Good Night.

Smooth Sailing

HI team!!! We got a healthy number of boxes today. We got two new pairs of shoes; deena and ozzy peep toed lace up wedges in black and metallic silver and jeffrey campbell black and white woven night walkers, new hairbands, three new bags, new wallets, three new pairs of socks, new jewelry, replen in tights and two new colors in the seamless bra.

Everything is processed and out on the floor or packed away in back stock. Nandi was our mid and she helped me process all of the jewelry, the socks and most of the smaller items that didn't need to be hard tagged. For the most part that's it. Nothing too interesting happened today.

Ooohhhh...... Morgin wants to turn the voop wall downstairs into a wall for backpacks. So the backpacks that are in back stock are those that have been displaced. We are just waiting for further instruction.

Chrsitmas is Nigh!!!

Hey guys. Shipment was a tad heavier this morning. We got about 6 or 7 boxes. We got a new pair of deena and ozzy wedged sneakers in two colors, a new pair of creepers, some new out stock oxfords in two colors, replen in earrings and a new earring & earcuff set, a pink color in the tights we got yesterday and replen in the suede Ecote moto boot. Once I was finished with shipment I moved to the shoe lounge. I cleared out some of the sale flats and put them on the sale a-frame and I replaced them with the new oxfords we got in today. Anni and I removed the 19 dollar sign off the back a-frame and moved all the 19 dollar skimmers to the front frame. All that should be on the back frame are the two colors in the oxfords and on the backside, the remainder of the sale animal skimmers. Liz was our mid today but because she wasn't feeling well I worked at the cash wrap from 11-3. I tried to get some skuless items done and I got to a few but the consistency of customers at the wrap limited what could have been done. Like most Tuesdays, today was a slant day, so please take a look at it. We have new pending holiday housewares promos coming up and a reminder that ONLY skimmers are included in the $19 promo. This means not the oxfords on the a-frame upstairs and not the new oxfords in the shoe lounge. If a customer asks 1. oxfords are not skimmers and 2. since there is no $19 sign on the a-frames with shoes that are not included, these 'flats' are not apart of the promo.

Any who.........See you guys tomorrow.
Get better Liz!!!!!! Take care of yourself. Please!!!!!!

What's a team to do...........

Hi team. I'm sorry to say, but last week was a rough one. Our department was down 18 percent. Of our many classes we were only up in 4 classes; slippers up 57, necklaces up 9, earrings up 2, and panties up 228. From last week we have continued to fall behind in boots which we were down 1,255%. Sunglasses were down 80 percent, hats 31 percent, gloves 64, athletic 2,646 %. Disappointingly, classes we managed to gain back last week took a dive this week for example hair accessories which was down 4 percent. We were up 2,000+ two weeks ago in athletics and our numbers for last week flip flopped into the negative. In Anni's most recent post she discussed possible reasons for last week's numbers, placement and displacement being two of them. So, while I didn't have a chance to place the two bags she was referring to I worked on filling and making sure everything we have in bs is also on the floor. Since we only got a quarter of a box in WACC (some new head bands, replen in earrings and a new style in tights), once I back stocked the head bands, placed the tights and separated the earrings for placement I worked on the panties wall. I filled the popular styles and got some new and displaced styles out. I condensed the Dolce lace up boot on promo and added the Ecote Moto to the other end of the shelf. I then walked the floor and replenished scarves, hats, and bags. Earlier in the morning Leslie replenished gloves and socks so between the two of us we hit up all but beauty. Around 11:30 I worked on mark downs. The motel cropped top is 14.99 as is the pleather bustier that has been in bs forever and the velvet burnout bustier. Three styles of the promo tights went on sale and I got to everything but some of back stock. The last hour and a half of my shift was spent at the cashwrap.

COOL THINGS: We got the label maker!!!! Its really simple. There is a label app on our MPO's, tap that and follow the instructions!!! Leslie got to a lot of skuless items today. Thank You Leslie.

today, yesterday, and the day before

heya! i opened. quite a bit.
basically worked in backstock getting rid of bins and making room for whatever.  i also cleaned up the shoe boxes and random things just on the floor of the bays. got rid of 2-3 full bins and combined whatever i could. sale wacc got replened, brought out more gloves, more tights. we're selling down on the fleece lined tights so i was putting opaque black ones out and filling the rest with some sweater tights. NAIL POLISH DISPLAY IS FILLED!! woo! its quite pretty. and i guess its not too hard to maintain since there arent too many of each color up there. did some minor fills on the floor. ugh. i cant remember. im just rambling now. in 6-12 today, abby is 7-4, hopefully thatll help wacc out a bit.

also, YEAH gloves are just nowhere. shoved all the way back to the bathroom, where there are weird smells. not prime positioning. from what i remember, cedric said we were down in gloves and hats, so i tried to bulk up in those.
alright thats all my geriatric mind will allow me to remember.
kbye,
leslie
ps see you guys in january!!! happy holidays!

Misplaced, Overlooked, and Forgotten. NOT ANYMORE.

Hey guys. So we ended the week -18%. I haven't looked over specific successful and opportunity classes yet. I'm disappointed.

I think it has largely to do with a few things: lack of filling, me not being here during the day/morning/weekdays, our product got shoved around A LOT this week (yes, womens department I am looking at you), we have a bunch of misplaced product now as a result, which is one of the many reasons why handbags are probably down is because we have two styles not on the floor, each style comes in 3 colors. I found random full quantities of bags that had been taken off the floor this week. None of those bags have made it back out to the floor. Abbys shifts are now shorter too, which isn't a huge deal but also takes away from free time in our department, my only 7-4 this week was impacted with operational training and the store meeting, and we also had a big beauty move on Friday so my one 10-7 during the week was mostly dedicated to that, as opposed to any other department fills/maintence. Our gloves frame was also pushed pretty far back, which has been a big class for us.. I hope people find them back there... Needless to say I'm interested to see our numbers.

Long story short: this week I'm working on re-claiming our real estate on the womens floor. I'm tired of finding random piles of misplaced WACC in the fitting room. Do NOT go shoving product in weird places, and ditching it.. If you see ANYONE displacing any product ask them what's up. It doesn't seem like a huge deal but it really does reflect through business. Not to mention when a pile of misplaced WACC is found in the FR and when a bag is not on the floor when we have a million in backstock, who will get the blame (so to speak)? We will! Not the person who decided to take it off the floor. And when all my shifts are mostly closings it's not the easiest thing to come in and place product when theres already a bunch of customers in the store.

In other news, we got a new beauty frame this week thanks to Casey. We will eventually lose the beauty stanchion to HW. I also noticed socks could use a good fill. Also the cute wedge booties on promo are selling down. Maybe we can get a different promo boot out? Or at least combine them? Just an idea.

I'm off on Monday so have a good day guys. I will see you all Tuesday morning.

20% Flash Sale! (NO! Not that kind of flash! ; ) )

I like, I like! Good job Anni.I The blog looks great! So Anni already knows but I had some difficulty getting into my house yesterday. I didn't get in till after 11 and blogging was the last thing on my mind. So I'm going to try and recap what happened yesterday but I'm struggling just to remember today, so bear with me. Yesterday we got the most shipment I've seen in a while. We got about 8 boxes of boxed shoes, the double zip Ecote boot and the BDG platform sneakers. To be honest that's all I can remember, SORRY. But, I got you guys on today. We got replen in the printed cotton panties, some random onesie lace bras and panties, a new color in TOMS, an e.l.f. eyeshadow kit that comes in two color palettes, replen in some knee high socks and a couple more of the acid wash back packs we got in on Monday. As usual the first couple hours were spent processing, back stocking and placing shipment. Yesterday Cedric introduced me to the proclarity report. It is a report that compares the sales for each department and their classes from day to day each week in comparison to the year before. This morning he printed it out for me so that I could see which classes were contributing to us being down 9% so far. The numbers indicated that we were drastically down in gloves, scarves, socks, sunglasses and boots. So I committed my day to filling and placement in the hopes of improving numbers. I began with socks. I went back to last weeks numbers and the velocity report and pulled all the velocity socks to the a frame and filled them as much as possible. Once that was done I moved on to integrating scarves back into the noticeable spots on the floor. For the most part our scarves were on the backs of vignettes. So I got some onto tables and those that were on velocity that we didn't sell much of last week I pulled from hiding in back stock and on the floor into accessible places. In the process I also pulled small sale items like socks and hair accessories into sale in preparation for the 20% flash sale. Tomorrow I am going to focus on gloves. They need to be reorganized and though we originally turned the a frame around to showcase the most popular gloves, Andy suggested that we make sure the side with the '2 for 20" texting gloves is facing the front of the store. So I have to fill but also move the gloves so that the gloves with the buttons and the striped ones like them are on the same side as the texting gloves. This is the plan for tomorrow. I hope the sale goes well tonight. Good luck to those of you working tonight. Till tomorrow.

P.S. Nandi and I were talking about sunglasses being down and we're pretty sure it has to do with the fact that we have a limited number hidden downstairs on the men's a-frame. I will talk to Anni and/or Morgin about this tomorrow.

Good Night

Gold all in chain... (Sorry I just watched a Trinidad James video)

Its been a while since I posted but I wanted to get one in here... I've been busy with school and such attempting to finish off somewhat strong. its difficult but hopefully I do good and don't have to move.

On to other stuff though, work has been pretty good for me these last two days. I closed Monday and Tuesday I felt like both were pretty strong closes. I'm open to criticism, just let me know how I'm doing. Let me know if there's anything I can improve on. Help me to help you. Nothing was out of the ordinary yesterday just a bunch of returns and things.. was kind of slow because of crappy weather.

That sku-less bin has like multiplied into two like overnight from when I was there Monday to last night. We really should find a way as a COMPLETE STORE TEAM to minimize and also get rid of it. No reason we should have it. Like it was stated at the meeting we should be getting a printer very soon so hopefully that changes things. Although the sku-less been is at the cashwrap its technically not our sole responsibility and we as a STORE can get rid of it. that being said though since we are at the cashwrap we should at least be keeping it clean, keeping bags filled, etc.

TAKE PRIDE IN OUR HOME

"What if the sky and stars are for show, And the aliens are watching live from the purple matter."  Shoutout to Anni on the revamped page.

Moonday

Hey guys and gals. Happy Monday. We started last week a bit rocky but I'm happy to announce that we ended on a great note, up 24 percent! Yay! Some 'lost cause' classes jumped back after a while in the underworld and others that have really been carrying our department for the last month or so failed us this week. So in a speedy recap of our weeks numbers.....drum roll please...... On the winning team; athletic up 2,941%, casual up 113%, handbags and wallets up 113%, necklaces up 108% and earrings up 61%. Unfortunately every winner is accompanied by a 'loser' and we had a disappointing week with some other classes. Ghastly, boots were down 949%, travel was down 92%, belts were down 60%, GLOVES were down 22% and scarves were down 12%. And while intimates were on the whole down 29 we did very well in bras and panties; panties were up 349 and bras were up 25. So that's last week's break down.

This morning we got replen in the oversized envelope bag that we got back in last week, smaller sixes of the Nike wedged sneaker that only came in 8's, 9's, and a ten last week, and lace scalloped bras in four colors. Everything got put away and out onto the floor except for the bras. I will have to figure out how to get more bras onto the floor tomorrow. I filled scarves and some hats this morning and started filling socks. I  began the process of ridding back stock of the mess. There were some TOMS in a random bin, I placed those on the pegs. I filled sale with the sale TOMS because sale had been wiped clean from this weekend's shopping. I was able to find room to bs the Nike wedges that came in last week along with the ones that came in today and Janine reorganized the shoe bays to make room for the KB wedged Mary Janes that came in last week as well. My last two hours were spent at the cash wrap.

REMINDER: So we spoke about closing out WACC at the store meeting on Sunday, and Leslie I did read your post, but let me say again that WACC is our responsibility. The shoe lounge a-frames needed to get more attention last night and the holds should be pulled EVERY night. This way, they don't get overwhelming and daunting. I pulled holds from December 3rd! Not cool, that's 7 days worth of holds! Shipment has been light for the past few weeks and our department's organization is coming together so for the next 3 weeks we will be heavily focusing on 1. customer service 2. keeping our floor filled and 3. customer service. Lets pull in the reigns team!

kk. that's all for tonight.

Duces!

Sale Madness

Hey guys! Let me first say that we need to do a better job when closing out WACC. The shoe lounge and the intimates display downstairs have been gravely neglected this week, so please, even if you are not responsible for closing out a specific section, walk the floors and make sure that WACC is completely and correctly closed out. Okay! So, shipment was heavier than it has been but not as crazy as it was earlier last month. We got in new patterns of the lace bandeau, a new color of the padded seamless bra, new necklaces and a new pave post earring. We got replen in the cream knitted scarf that's folded along the wall in the shoe lounge, and  we also got two new pairs of boxed shoes, a pair of wedged black suede nikes and a black suede wedged mary jane and a skull embellished d+o loafer. Project wise, I cleaned up the opaque tights display near the bathroom. We now have a row of fleece lined footless tights and a row of fleece lined tights along with the opaque tights. Downstairs I reworked the bra display and added the new bras that we got in today, please maintain the neatness of these. Anni set up all the sale and WACC promo signs and cleaned up the look of sale. With everything that got done today including processing and back stocking shipment there are a couple things left for tomorrow.

FRIDAY MORNING: Anni would like tomorrow's opener to COMPLETELY rework tights. This means taking ALL the tights off the a-frame and pulling the boxes of tights from the men's fitting room unto the floor and filling the newer and most popular pairs unto the frame. Secondly, please make sure we get the best sweater tights out. There is a box in bs directly in front of the staging bay with the newest tights that came in today, begin filling with these. That should be it for WACC. Other than that, depending on how the sale goes today, fill sale and the floor.

Have a good night

Abby

50% OFF SALE!

This Thursday to Sunday we are having 50% off sale! It's for customers and employees. The big sellers for us will be our sale TOMS, and our sale scarves. I work 6am-3pm tomorrow and I'm going to spend time re-vamping our WACC sale. That bottom shelf of scarves is getting nuts! Plus we have to figure out how to get more sale on the floor because those wood boxes got out of control.

We also have a new boot promo starting tomorrow. MOST of our boots are going to be $20 off. Please read the slant to familiarize yourself with which boots will and won't be on there. Abby and I swithced out the boots on the wall in the shoe lounge today to prepare for the promo tomorrow so now all we have to do is add signage.

Shipment wise we got in a really cute back pack that looks like the old mineral wash one we had, except it has a tribal print. It comes in white and blue which I placed on the table with the BDG chords. I then moved the envelope cluth bags to the back of vignette #3 near the stairs. They are also now displayed on the vignette forms in front of them. The moto bags that were there (red, brown, and black) are now on the back of vignette #2 near the cash wrap. I have had them up there before but they didn't seem to sell any better, but who knows. I think they're cute but our handbags are NOT selling!

I also helped out the womens team with fills. I did a vignette change. I added the all over lace dress onto the forms and kept the printed leggings. It felt good to work in womens. :)

That's all I got for now!

Ho Ho HO! Merry Tuesday!

Hey guys! Other than processing shipment I completed the directives that Anni gave yesterday. I pulled the sale toms and flats into sale and the remainder I placed on the peg wall in back stock and in a box in the sale fitting room that's marked "WACC sale toms". I flipped some of our A-frames as well. Liz and I were talking about how hidden the jewelry is so we flipped that A-frame so that it now faces the front of the store. I also, with much needed help, flipped the glove frame so that the side with our best sellers are at the front and the second shoe frame downstairs so that the promo sign can be seen as well. Most of my day was spent dotting our i's and crossing our t's. Corey didn't like the presentation of the sale WACC in those wooden boxes because they were a bit messy and unorganized so I pulled all of them. We are going to have to figure out how to represent our sale before Thursday. The one thing I wanted to do that didn't get done before I left was put up the signage for the texting gloves and for the tights downstairs. I wanted to do them during my free hours this morning but by the time Casey got a moment to make the wooden bases I was held up at the wrap. However, Andy said that he would try to get them up for me. If he didn't get to it I will make sure that it is the first thing I do tomorrow morning. See you guys tomorrow.

Night!

DIRECTIVEZ

First, let me be the one to say the aztec TOMS went on sale, along with the chord TOMS. They are all 39.99 and with employee appreciation that is a great deal! I'm just spreading the word in case any employees wanted to get them (they'll make good gifts!). We didn't get many mark downs. I was able to complete them on the floor and in backstock. However, I did not check the bins for the printed Toms or the chord Toms, I only did what was on the pegboard in backstock.

Weekly Direction:

We ended the week -10%. Successful classes include: gloves, hats (killin' em), and boots! Opportunity classes: scarves, handbags, small goods, and casual shoes.

-Signage!! let's get that magic text glove sign up! why not, ey!?!? Also, we need to add another KB pump promo sign to the shoe lounge wall now that they house those shoes! They're all out, btw!

-I want to create a hevier bag presentation in the store. I'm going to be moving the D&O bag on the front table. I'm going to try to work it into the second entry table. Those envelope clutches will come off. I'd like to work those into the wall next to the FR. We can take out those sparkly bags which can easily get moved. Also going to move the small bags in the middle of the chambray 4x4. Where? I'm not sure yet.

-Casual shoe clean up! We need to move the sale flats off that a-frame (the shiny bow flats are on sale!) and the flats on there need to get cleaned up. The pegs are a little crazy. There needs to be on style on each row. Please group them together by styles.

-The gloves A-Frame to get cleaned up and turnd around (I did cleaned it and filled it, just needs to be flipped!)

-There are also a few things in backstock I'll be bringing to the floor that are on velocity and not out. The cross hatch floral scarf (which is NOT on sale yet!) comes in 4 colors and it's still high up on velocity, and we have a bunch. They need to make their way back out onto the floor.

-BRAAAS! Let's re-work the inside of this lingerie table and create a strapless bra presentation. The lace bandeaus and the seamless bandeaus have always done pretty well for us and haven't been on the floor in WEEKS.

Happy December!!

HEY GUYSSSS

As of now we're down -13% which is a ton better then yesterday -33%. We've been slow on business but have had a lot of payroll for the end of November, as most of you know. Due to the excess payroll we had a ton of coverage. Having Abby free the majority of the week was AMAZING. She really kicked ass in that backstock with Andy and Janine! Shout outs! It looks so great back there. Lets PLEASE keep it this way. There is NO reason any WACC associate should be leaving anything in backstock.. Ever! Let's set a good example. If we do that, imagine what the other departments do with our product!

I was able to backstock all the new Ecote shoes that came in this week. I moved some bins around, filled, and consolidated until they fit in. Yesterday Leslie and I were working on jewelry and we re-vamped the WACC cluster peg boards so now they have fun earrings on them, and it's more organized. It looks pretty! Also, as Leslie mentioned ANDY fixed our peg board problem on the cluster!! Those annoying jewelry peg boards that customers are ALWAYS knocking over now have bases on the bottom of them!! So shout out to Andy for helping out the team!! I also spent a good hour maintaining the jewelry A-Frame which is also pretty right now! We have very little jewelry in backstock and I'd like to keep it that way. I also spent time on filling beauty, and other spot fills.

I also did a few bag moves. I brought out the Kimchi Blue metal tip tote, which we had a lot of in the back but it hasn't been on the floor for a while. I put it on the voop wall near the bathroom. Before Cedrid had placed the small black spikey bag there. However, the red spikey bag was in that wall near the bathroom so I moved the black one over into that shelving so they could live together. I also re-arranged the front table bag display, and stuffed an extra bag to put on the table to bring more eyes to the bag. I moved the colors around, hoping people would be more interested in the black and greenish colors.

~~ALSO. The holidays are almost here. If ANYONE needs time off you HAVE to request it or you are responsible to get those shifts covered. I will always try to accomdate the requests as best I can. I will be hiring 1-2 additional WACC people at least until January, if not for longer. This should help relieve the team a bit.

Overall, a very successful week. Business was weak, but it was overall through the store...
Except for the mens department. I'm onto you guys. *shifty eyes*

wrap up day

Today was wrap up day. We got a few more boxes of shipment which have been processed but not completely back stocked and I spent the majority of my day in bs. My goal was to go through all the bins and find sale and possible dime outs and pull them out of the bays in order to find room to bs more boxed shoes. However, the amount of sale I found wasn't enough to get rid of bins never mind store two boxes of boxed shoes. So that effort was a disappointing flop. We (Anni and I) were however able to get some sale representation out in the sale section and Anni reorganized the bag bay. Things moved pretty slowly today because there were so many competing projects in bs, but it was important for Nico to be in the bays on Men's behalf.

So for tomorrow's opener: Please bs what is left of today's shipment which are boxed and stacked together against the furnace and finish sorting through the bin of headbands, mark those that need to be marked down and find a way to neatly display them in sale

That's all!

visit day

Hey guys, so as you should understand from the post title Cara and Sandra visited us today. However they came in the late afternoon so I'm not sure what the verdict was. We got in about 5 boxes of shipment this morning. We got some replen gloves, replen kb suede heels, replen jewelry, replen studded envelope bags, new key chain coin purses in three different colors/patterns, new belt sets in four or five color combinations, and two new slouchy paper boy caps. I used my morning processing shipment and then spot cleaning the store windows. Once we opened I separated shipment that had to get unto the floor and those that needed to be back stocked. I gave the floor samples to Nandi to place and back stocked the rest. I also did a bit of filling. I filled scarves, hats and some gloves. For the rest of the day I was in BS polishing up what Janine had done so well Tuesday night. Before I left I completed sorting through the wacky bins of one sided and unboxed shoes. I found many pairs so now we only have one bin of one sided shoes. Tomorrow I plan on tackling the bag bay. So that should be all cleared up by the end of the day. It's been a long day, so night night!

quick two day recap

Yesterday we got in about 4 boxes of WACC. Everything got processed and placed on the floor. I filled the floor and at the beginning of my shift worked in BS helping to clear it out. Today we got no WACC boxes and I spent my entire shift in BS clearing it out. I initially wanted to work in the WACC bays only but there were so many pieces of WACC strewn about the place that I started picking through open bin and boxes to separate items by department. That led to me emptying and back stocking boxes and bins of bulk folded men's and women's in order to simply move around, which then turned into an effort to clean everything up. I found some WACC boxes, processed and unprocessed, along the way and now these are back stocked or on the floor. I also managed to fill sporadically. For WACC there are about 3 bins of 'single' shoes stacked near the WACC bays. I plan to go through them tomorrow, pair them and figure out a way to store them that doesn't take up too much room in bs. Janine was scheduled to work back there from 2-10 so I'm sure she has been great improvement where I left off. See you guys tomorrow.

yeahhhhh....

alright, so today was a super busy morning, and I am leaving at 12.

I redid the entire wacc shoe area. EVERYTHING is organized by style and color. It is pretty much perfect at the moment and I hope that everyone works to keep it that way. I know I am only here 2 days a week, but I have noticed a lot of laziness in wacc and we should all take some more pride in our work and the store

ALSOOOOO

I gutted a lot of the wac bay. I got rid of over 7 bins!!!
it's now pretty empty and we can even push some bins over the other side and use that side for more boxed shoes if we need it. We have the world's smalles backstock so it is really important that we use all space wisely.

I can't.

there were so much stuff that was on sale just chilling in the bays. Some of it had already gone down to $4.99. Since our customers are all pretty much sale shoppers it is so important that sale is fresh and all of the product that is on sale is out. IT WILL GET BOUGHT, but nothing is going to happen with it sitting in the back.

I also started going through the sunglasses. I got through a bin and a half and there were so many dimeouts! I filled a huge trash bag half way already.

ONE MORE THING:

when I was walking the shoe lounge this morning there were some weird things on the shoe tables and the wall. I don't know why becuase I just redid all of that yesterday.

we should make sure when we close we actually make sure the shoes look nice and the tissue paper is hanging out for the world to see. Laces tied. grouped together so that it makes sense.

KiSsEs

hooooolllllllaaaa,

so today I started working in the back. I redid the outstocked shoewall and then filled the spaces in the back with some boxes of boxed shoes. I also went ahead and redid the shoe table. There were a lot of shoes that weren't represented on the floor :(

I started to work on refreshing the wacc cluster and bringing some of the newer pieces forward.

ANNI: I tried to start fixing those neclaces that fell over last night, but when I did they all just kept breaking. cedric told me just to leave it for now and have you look at it. I could only get a few out of the mess. IT'S HOOOOORRRRRRIIIIIBBBBBLLLLLLLLEEEEEE

also, I cleaned up the drawers at the cashwap so everything is organized and pretty again SO KEEP IT THAT WAY!

I think that is mostly it. :)

love you. mean it

TGIBF

Hi team! Happy Black Friday. I really needed Thanksgiving. It was a Grrrrreat day and night. After the last couple days at work it was well needed. I haven't posted in a while so I'll give you guys a brief recap. We got a lot of shipment this week because we were closed on Thursday and I got to most of them but we are back to our original problem of more boxed shoes and not enough space in the bays. Anni left directives for moves for the week and I completed them between Tuesday and Wednesday. I started the new glove a-frame on Tuesday and ended up staying late to finish it because for the most part I was stuck at the register. On Wednesday morning I moved the sale shoes that were on the shoe a-frame upstairs to sale, and I moved the full priced shoes to the a-frames in the shoe lounge. The socks are now upstairs on one side of what was the shoe a-frame and I put the opaque and faux thigh hight tights on the other side. I also did a bit of spot filling and got shipment from Wednesday out. I moved the sunglasses to make room for the gloves but they are in a bin in BS because I though it would be better to reorganize the sunny's display downstairs before adding them to it. So that is left to be done. Today I helped tag women's shipment in BS with Savion, rang at the wrap and tried to keep things together by running when I could and cleaning up behind the wrap. From my time ringing I think today went pretty well. I'll check in tomorrow to know for sure. I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.....

Good Night guys!

Happy closing BF team!

schedules

are now posted on the store wide blog. :)

Weekly Directives~

A few major things that need to happen this week:

1. Were doing some a frame re-working. The women sunglasses are going to be condensed with the men's sunglasses downstairs.

2. All sale shoes on the frames need to be pulled into the sale section. Any left over flats on the bathroom a frame can come downstairs to the SL a frames.

3. The upstairs frame is going to become socks and tights. The socks will no longer be downstairs. This is going to be the most time consuming of the moves.

4. The sunglasses frame is going to get maxed out with gloves.

Abby, please allow yourself time to do this Wednesday morning. Talk to the opening manager if you need extra
free time.

We probably/might be getting shipment Wednesday. We have two openers scheduled so please have Leslie work on shipment assuming its there.

****WEDNESDAY NIGHT CLOSERS****
We have two WACC closers Wedneaday night. One is going to be in charge of filling and black Friday prepping. Please max the floor out. Particularly: gloves, scarves, and hats.

Afterwards allow yourself time in back stock to search for sale items. We have a few bins of bras and I know a bunch of them are on sale. I'd start there. Scan through the bras and create a sale bin of just bras. Make sure they are all priced. Place the bin in sale. Please continue in this fashion. Do not and I repeat DO NOT NOT NOT throw random wacc sale in a bin. It should be all the same items in the bin. Also look through the socks for sale, double check to make sure all sale bags are out (we don't have too many so please pull anything you can!), and any room for sale shoes please fill in as necessary. A lot of the piecey shoe returns are probably are on sale or can get force marked.

For any further direction please talk to Corey. I will not be in until 2pm on Black Friday! Please leave communication!

3 days till turkey day

Hello dearies! Good evening. So in great news, we are currently up 1% for the week so far, and I say great because we were the only department up today. So pat yourselves on the back and let us take this as motivation to stay up and continue doing well for the rest of the week. The good news is that we got about five boxes of shipment, some new gloves, replen gloves, a new scarf, replen in the blue bdg boots that are upstairs underneath the promo sweaters, replen in panties, a new wide rimmed hat in brown, holiday patterned knee highs, a new elf blemish correcting powder kit, makeup remover towelettes, a bdg tote in brown and tan, and replen in beanies. My day was very simple. I processed everything and got all but the wide brimmed hat and the elf makeup kit out, and I backstocked everything as well. As I looked for places on the floor to place shipment I spot filled hats and scarves which helped me make room for new shipment in the bays. I also processed the box of panties that have been at the cash wrap since last week. So there are no boxes of shipment at the cash wrap and no boxes from today in back stock. Tomorrow I will work toward the same goal. Other than that, ya'll have a good night.

Directives, Backstock Clean Up, and Scorpios

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIO!!!!! :D

Moving on! Due to scheduling Abby and I could not do an overnight together right now. I did spend the majority of my shift yesterday in backstock. I was able to group all the like classes together. As of now bras, socks, slippers, casual shoes, sunglasses, and gloves are on the bay near the shoes. The other side houses all: scarves, hats, and more gloves. I re-organized the hats on the top shelf. I began looking through bins to seperate sale, pull any missed dime outs, and organize as much as possible. Unfortunately I haven't had time to finish going through the bins.

SOOOOO

What needs to be done: the jewelry, and beauty needs to be gone through in the office (filled and re-organized), the tights are currently in the first mens FR and these need to be pulled out, organized, and labeled. Box of just opaques, a box of just sweater tights, etc. That way when were filling we can go straight for what sells. It's been really hard to fill from that FR! The bins in backstock need to continue to be gone through. I also wanted to pull all the bags out and re organize them.

Saturday Directives: Please work on filling and organizing the beauty and jewelry in the office above the desk. Fill as much as you can. Make sure to scan for dime outs if you see anything weird! Condense, condense, condense! Cara will kill us if she comes and sees that it's all crazy again! When we open please continue processing the box of shipment at the register which should be just jewelry and panties. Please put everything out. Work on fills as necessary.

Sunday: FILL DAY. Fill everything you can. Pay special attention to: scarves, hats, gloves!

ALSO: 50% WOMENS SALE SHOES TILL THE 23!! Even though the apparel isn't an additional extra anymroe, the sale shoes are!! Please make sure you are discounting them at the register. I will be putting up a sign today before I leave.

Tuesday night ...Last day for 50% off sale

Hi guys and gals. Welcome to Tuesday night! It was a crazy morning today because we got a million boxes! Well, ok, more like 100, but it might as well have been a millon, right? Anyway, we got a lot of shipment. And while I was able to get through most of the individually wrapped scarves, hats, TOMS, socks and bags, I didn't get to them all. There are still 6 boxes of unprocessed boxed shoes, a box of unprocessed TOMS, and  two boxes of tights, unless Anni has already transferred these to the Men's fitting room. For the most part I stayed focused on my goal of no card board in BS, but we need to figure out how to get those shoes into the bays, and unfortunately there wasn't enough time in my day for that. Like always, I feel like I am forgetting to say something, but thanks to Anni for helping me wrap up that last box of panties etc from yesterday and the jewelry from today, and Diego for giving me time on the floor towards the end of my shift to complete placement. By the way we got in a new D&O wedge in black and silver, a new BDG bootie in 'taupe' and black, replen in a floral pom-pom rimmed circle scarf, new jewelry (earrings, rings and necklaces), three different patterns in TOMS, two of them replen, black opaque tights and the faux thigh high tight, and a new gold looking tight, hair chalk (in stantions in case you want to learn more about them) and I'm pretty sure, other things that I can't think of right now. Anywho, another long day tomorrow. Hope everyone is well.

Night Night!!!

3 to None

Hi Hi Team! It was a pretty easy day today. We only got 20 boxes in total and three boxes of shipment for WACC. I spent the morning processing shipment and getting it out. A few things were replen, so that made the morning even easier. I left a box of panties at the cash wrap that I want to make sure I get into the panties' wall before we open tomorrow morning. We also got mark downs today, primarily on shoes and some random, online return jewelry. I was allowed time downstairs and in BS for an hour and a half, so the mark downs are done, except of course, for the onesie items I could not find. Hopefully some time this week we can figure out how to get some of the new marked down shoes onto the floor so that we can free up space for new and regular priced shoes. Other than that we had a great week last week and have started the week off encouragingly, so lets keep up the good work. See you all tomorrow.

Sunday, November 11, 2012

A FEW THINGS

  1. NEW HIRES. I need at least 1-2 seasonal hires for WACC. I rather not hire anyones personal friend, however because you guys are at the cash wrap the most if you see someone who might be a good fit, let me know!! I really would like to hire someone in the next week!
  2. HOLIDAY. It's that time. Holiday shopping is upon us. I really need everyones help this holiday season to really keep the department together. This means the time we have in the morning without customers is CRUCIAL. Once those doors open it's going to continue to get harder to put shipment out/fill/work on projects. As much as I wish I could be the WACC opener 7 days a week, I can't. I really need everyone on top of their game. That means if you do open on a shipment day I need you guys to process everything, place all the shipment with Morgin, and fill it in. If you're not accomplishing what needs to get done in the morning, you will not be opening.
  3. BLACK FRIDAY. Everyone must work. If you have any weird requests for the day (ie not open/not close) let me know before the date Corey listed below, I will accomidate them as much as I can but I can not promise anything.

Onto my Saturday/Sunday: Yesterday I attempted to work on socks and tights. I wanted to take off the top 3 rows of tights and have one row of fleece lined tights, one row of opaque tights, and one row of sweater tights. HOWEVER I couldn't find any tights in backstock. I know Andy boxed up the 'speciality tights' so now those are in the first mens FR. I'm not sure if the opaque ones were in there or the sweater tights. I couldn't really figure it out because the boxes weren't labeled and it's incredibly hard to manuever back there. Needless to say I'm going to talk to Andy and Corey to see if we can work something else out, because I can't fill from that FR. Sunday I spent my morning filling jewelry and working on the WACC cluster. Christine and I also spot filled.

schedule and other cool thangs~

Today / Friday Morning

Thursday

Today we got in 32 boxes. We got in these really cute new brown TOMS wedges. Except they have the Toms patch on the back, like the slip on ones. Which kind of ruins it. We also got a cute new bag similar to the double zip clutch on the table, except it has sequins all over the front. It's as if the 'double zip envelope bag' and the 'Ecote heavy studded cross body' had a child, haha. It's cute and came in two colors.

Today I worked on processing and putting out shipment. I also (attempted) to add signage to the A-Frames downstairs. Shout out to Nico for helping out the team! He's got such an eye when he cuts those signs! :D I also worked on sale transfers. It felt good to spend time going through some of the weird bins in backstock. I found a gold mind of dime outs. I prepped a box full of sale scarves, and a box full of sale hats for transfers which will be sent out tomorrow.

As most of you have heard we started 50% off sale and it lasts until the 13th!
AND ALL BDG flats are $19!

Friday!!!

-Work on filling socks. Grab a bin of socks from back stock and just take off any weird/piecey/opened socks on the A-Frame. Replace with fresh quantity from the bin. Fill socks, and please pay attention to the length of the socks. Some are knee highs so they are longer and need to be towards the bottom. If we only have a few left of a sock just take it off and replace with a new sock. We should have plenty back there.

-Fill tights. Look for opaque tights, sweater tights, and the fleece lined tights. Take down weird/piecey tights and max out the top 3 rows with these styles. The fleece lined tights probably need a circular tag on them so they can hang. There should be circular tags at the cash wrap you can tag the top with. People love these warm tights and with the snow that just happened I think this is the perfect time to push them out!

-Please fill in the brown sequin bag on the back round table. I wasn't able to locate it yesterday. I think it is in a womens box because I went through all the WACC boxes I found. Except for one large box of Toms shoes. So perhaps check in with the womens opener to see if they have come across it. If not maybe locate any non placed womens shipment boxes? If you still can't find it, just make each department aware it's probably in one of their shipment boxes. We're gonna find yah!

Fill as necessary. I know gloves could also use a filling. That might be an easy thing to work on during the morning hour. Either way, I will see you at 7 anyways ! haha

Anni

SNOW DAY!!!!! (Tuesday Post)

Hey guys! I didn't get to post last night because when I got home from the gym my internet was down, I am assuming as a result of the snow. But not much was missed. I got all but boxed shoes processed and back stocked. We got an insane amount of panties, two bins full in fact, and I made sure those were out of plastic, a pesky but necessary job. As far as I know Andy and Corey are trying to figure out what to do with our boxed shoes. I made room for what I hoped would be the last of them on Tuesday, but we got more. In all there are about 20 misplaced boxes of boxed shoes under the stairs. So stay posted for today's (Thursday) post in the evening. I hope everyone fared well in the 'storm'. We'll chat later.

P.S. I also made 4 boxes of Wacc sale bags. It freed up a lot of space. So yay!!!

Obama Day!!!

Hellooo all! Happy Election day! This is going to be brief. We got over 100 boxes today, definitely more than the 50 we thought we were going to get. I worked in back stock organizing the shoe bays AGAIN! Something I have no interest in continuing to do, however, it was the only way to get the mountains of boxed shoes into back stock. So, I got all the WACC boxes from yesterday that were under the stairs back stocked and a few of the boxes from today as well. All the other WACC shipment from this morning are hanging out at the cash wrap. I started hard tagging some bags that we got in. But for the most part there are just more boxes of shoes back there. So, I will tackle the shoes first thing tomorrow and then move on to the other boxes. We are expecting 25 boxes tomorrow, so let's keep our fingers crossed that we will be able to catch up and get rid of all of our boxed shipment tomorrow. We also got color specific mark downs. I got to the floor but not BS and the only thing I think I missed on the sales floor are those turquoise blue cooperative loafers that will be 19.99. Oh! We started 50% off sale today and we also had 20% off for those who voted today.

See you guys tomorrow

WACC WEEKEND DIRECTIVES

Saturday morning: All the boxed sale shoes need to be taken out of boxes, and girl/boy tagged together with price stickers on the bottom. This will help give customers a visual of the shoe and will help keep it more organized (and corey asked me to have someone do it!). Please fill sale as you go with any other shoes that can be filled (including sale bags, sale casual shoes). Come 10am I would like you to be filling the floor. Please survey the floor for any fills, pay CLOSE attention to (especially table top) scarves/hats. THANK YOU!

Sunday morning: Please continue to work on WACC in backstock. Someone began organizing the shoe bay, survey that bay opposite the shoes and I would start there. I know there are dime outs still back there so please make sure you are price checking any old items/weird sale items. There is also a basket in the office of jewelry dime outs if you could combine that with the dime outs you pull from today, and process them together..I would really like to start getting the classes together in the bays (all bins of scarves together, socks, etc). Please get back there and get your hands dirty, mkay girl?! Hahaha. Please leave communication of where you left off because we will be continuing the backstock clean up.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!
Anni

'ello babes

Tourist Tuesday

Hi Dolls. There isn't much to write about. I worked yesterday and again today. We have been doing great business. Yesterday we were up more than 60 percent to LY. Woot!!!!Woot!!! Tuesday was a little weird because it was just Corey, myself, Julia and Charley working and we opened and closed out the store, and today was crazier because we had our team plus new and old faces from other stores helping us out in BS, on the floor etc. Cray!!! There was a lot of foot traffic so for the most part I was at the cash wrap ringing. During down time I helped detag and box dime outs. And when I first got in I made a failed attempt to backstock all of our old shipment. Which brings me to the unhappy news that we will be getting 81 boxes tomorrow, so its going to be another coo coo day. Anywho I'm exhausted and dreading the morning commute. I can't wait till the trains start running again. I hope everyone is doing well and is safe. Enjoy your nights.

Abby

In regards to Frankenstorm

Hi Team-

As you're all (hopefully) aware, we are in the direct line of Hurricane Sandy, expecting to reach us Monday evening.

The MTA is currently planning to suspend all subway and bus service starting at 7pm Sunday evening in preparation for the weather.

As of now, we are running business as usual.  We will be open both Monday and Tuesday and all shifts still stand as scheduled.

If there are any updates, I will communicate them to you here.  If you have any questions, reach out to the store.  We should have more information tomorrow evening.

Thanks y'allllllllllllllllllllll.

Long Time, No Post!

This week in WACC... We had a ton of bags and other goodies go on sale. I worked on moving them off the floor and into sale. Speaking of which, let's try to keep that WACC sale clean! We don't have that many full priced handbags right now so it's really important we keep the sale bags refreshed! We have plenty more where they came from! Also, the kimchi blue flats that were on promo for $19 are now in the sale section they are all 9.99! Needless to say I cleaned up sale a bit..

Yesterday I also switched around the A-Frames. The BDG suede flat for $19 is now downstairs in the SL. Hopefully we get more in soon because we are pretty light on them. Upstairs where the suede flats where are now suede loafers with black opaque tights. Morgin wanted an entire A-Frame side with just black tights but it doesn't seem we have enough. Let's make sure there are JUST black opaque tights on there when we are closing/filling it!

I spent most of my day so far today filling (up until about 12 when it got busier). I really focused on hats and scarves. I moved a new scarf to the front table to replace the ones up there we were running low on. I also walked backstock and pulled two styles that weren't on the floor and I put those out as well. It's really important we're staying ontop of the winter WACC because that is whats really going to sell in the upcoming month.

Any downtime at the wrap should be used for filling or going through WACC backstock bins for dime outs.

1/2 Day

Hey guys. I didn't reach my goal of completing sale and marking everything down by the end of my shift today. I got cut from 7-10, so I was in from 10-3. However, I did manage to get shipment from Monday through today out. I backstocked most of the boxes, but there are still two boxes of scarves from today that need to go away. There isn't much more than that. I'll be working on the rest of the markdowns tomorrow and I left Nandi with two boxes of WACC sale boxes so that she could RF them for dime outs. That's that. Love y'all. Tomorrow.

Life is What Happens When You're Busy Making Plans

Hey guys. Today didn't go quite as I had planned. We are currently short on hours so I got cut three hours today, so instead of leaving at 12 I left at 3. As I said yesterday, we got markdowns this week. I completed the women's floor yesterday and was supposed to work in BS today. In fact, I got a lot done, just not exactly what I had originally planned. I started off tagging shipment this morning. We got replen in tights and some new socks, these are still in their box in BS, sequined berets in three colors (brown light green and cream), a new circle scarf in two solid colors, black and cream, replen in Cooperative and Kimchi Blue flats, a new style in the head warmers in 2 colors; black and light green and replen in the screen touch gloves. I backstocked the gloves and pulled a number of the other items into a box with the intention of placing them, but they are still sitting at the cash wrap. So what did I do? I completely reorganized the shoe bays. Every brand is grouped together and every style within that brand is grouped together. This was only possible because I also pulled the majority of the sale shoes out of backstock and organized them into sale. The sale shoes that are out are marked, but the ones left in back stock are unmarked; however they are grouped together on one shelf so marking them down will be very easy. I moved the onsey/return shoes to the front of the bays so that it will be easy for us to know what we have only one of; and now when Andy is looking for a Jeffrey Campbell shoe or that one Ash sneaker he doesn't have to move the bays, he can just peek up. The last problem, that has only been solved temporarily is the mountain of homeless (those without a box) shoes that were heaped into the back far left corner. The shoes that were one sided went into the "one-sided" shoe bin and those that had partners went into a box at the very top of the entrance of the shoe bay, it reads "WACC Unboxed Women's Shoes". The box is ultimately full, so when I said it is temporary I mean possibly only for today. Other than that I got out the Dolcetta oxfords which are on sale. They are hanging on the sale out stock shoe A-frame.

What is left:
1 marking down bags on the lower level and in BS
2 marking down all out stock shoes
3 getting the out stock shoes into sale
4 getting out shipment

The good thing about shipment is that there isn't much. I've been cut for tomorrow again, I'll be in a 10 instead of 7, so if Corey gives me time downstairs again there is hope that I can get everything done. Yet on top of that we also have job outs. I don't know if Anni wants us to do that sooner than Thursday, but I planned to just spend Thursday morning going through the sale boxes I made last week, the bays and then the floor. That's all for today guys. Have a good night.

Mundane Mondays

Hey guys. Happy Monday. We got a light amount of shipment today. The most interesting new product is a Kimchi Blue pump that comes in three colors; black suede, gold, and teal suede. In all we got four boxes of these shoes, and for those of us who have been working in BS for the past week and a half, four boxes of boxed shoes seems insane, but I'll lay out my plan for that later. We got a new circle scarf with pom-poms on the ends, some new necklaces, replen in the card of three globe looking earrings, replen in the black canvas KB flats (all 7s) and replen in the KB pointed toe flat with laces in brown (all 8s). I got through with shipment fairly quickly. My goal was to get everything out of boxes and plastic, however, the four boxes of shoes I mentioned earlier are in BS. We got markdowns this week on bags, skimmers and boxed shoes. I completed the markdowns for the items on the women's floor but that's as far as I got. I started tagging those untagged items in the bin under register 5 but didn't get too far. We need to stop putting items that we have available in the store in that bin. That bin should only be for items that are difficult for us to find, not items we have in the store. All that's going to happen is come Inventory one of us is going to be standing at the register for three hours trying to find skus for things that are no longer in the store. It's our job to sku items when they are returned so lets continue to do that. OK! So, for my not so grand idea. By the end of the day Wednesday my goal is to have all the markdowns completed, including back stock. Once that is done I want to get as much out into sale, which is going to free up room for boxed shoes and require me to reorganize WACC sale. I'd also like to reorganize and remerchandise the jewelry but I think it would be best to do that once the sale is entirely over.  That is all I have for tonight. Have a good night guys and gals!

Changes with schedule!!

Sorry wacc team! Here you go again!

Y'allllllllllll-

When you see Abby give her a big thank you for all the work she put into WACC this week.  She has been owning the product piece each morning so that Anni can focus on overall store things.

You're all an integral part of the WACC team and I'm so happy with each of your contribution.  Keep doing what you're doing :D

Friday Morning Directives

Good morning!

I'd like you to focus on filling. Priorities: Casual shoes on a-frames, full priced wallets, scarves, and JEWELRY. We came across a bunch of jewelry in the office and I'm going to leave it at the cash wrap (probably near the cleaning stuff in the cabinets). Sale jewelry needs to go out asap (and try not to buy anything while you're at it ;) ) Please also meet up with Morgin in the morning for any further direction she might have. We have a visit today so please keep your projects as clean as possible! Lets prep for those weekend sales!

Have a good morning!
Anni

Visit Eve

Hey guys I hope all is well. I processed shipment, a new scarf in two colors and replen skimmers, replaced all the big sized shoes on display with 6's and 7's in the shoe lounge, and then worked on getting as much WACC into our bays. I didn't get everything, but I tried to get as much as I could in order. I hope those of you who are closing have a 'good' close, whatever that means for each of you and I'll be in tomorrow evening to hear all about it.

Good Night Guys!

Like a Chicken without a Head

Hi team. Today was a hectic day. We didn't get much shipment but we've been getting the store ready for Friday's visit. So, needless to say everyone has been a little stressed. I started off my day by tagging shipment and then I attempted to re-merchandise the shoe lounge. Morgin wanted us to move all the boxed shoes down to the last three rows, take out the piecey boxes, the BDG and COOP shoes, and leave just the short Ecote boots so that the wall would look uniform. On the top shelf we displayed one of each boot in the smallest sizes available. I also tried to pull the display shoes that are larger than a size seven from the shoe lounge because Morgin said that when pulling samples we should always put out the smallest sizes, so 6 or 7. I was able to get to a few of them but Andy spent most of the morning getting back stock into order and I wasn't able to get to the shoe bays. Anni said she would continue working on this tomorrow and so will I. I got shipment out and towards the end of my shift got rid of the boxes and product sitting behind the wrap for the past couple days. However, I did leave the Halloween fixture box and some jewelry I will put out tomorrow.  Back stock is looking good for us because Andy and Anni worked most of today getting things out of boxes and into the bays. Corey said WACC isn't expecting any boxes tomorrow so I'm going to whip through the shoe lounge and work on anything else Anni has in mind for me.

See you guys tomorrow morning

Monday Oct 15.... eleven more days!

Okay so I just wrote the longest post and it got deleted. I don't have the energy for another lengthy one so I apologize. I got out shipment, got rid of a crazy amount of old dime outs from the office, I freed up some zip-lock bags which allowed me to bag new jewelry, these bags are all labeled with today's date and what it holds, so for example "rings" or "bracelets". I processed a box of the new Ecote harness boots we got in, placed shipment (a job mostly completed by Morgin), Filled sale, there were bracelets in the baskets that had never seen the floor, these were 4.99 and sold very well. I also made sure to get this weekends best sale jewelry sale items out so we could get rid of all of them. Towards the end of the day I worked in BS getting boxed shoes out into the SL to make room for the new boxed shoes we got. On account of room there are still two boxes of boxed shoes in BS, a large one and a small one. I left two boxes at the Cashwrap. One has shipment from today that needs to go out tomorrow, the next has items that Corey and Morgin are contemplating incorporating into a Halloween fixture.

List of what we go in today:

trio ring set $16
purple pyrite necklace $16
double chain necklace $20 (few of these are out, the tangle very easily, so less is more)
White sparkly rock cuff (new color) $20
skinny skeleton cuff (gold, silver and rose) $12
double finger cross ring $18
skinny dangling cross earrings $16
New ear cuffs $10
red ribbed tights $14
piecey colored hair extensions (3 colors) $15
new gloves (2 styles
replen Ecote canvas back pack Grey
replen and new color in BDG striped circle scarf $29
Silver envelope clutch $42
leopard and tiger printed hats $24
Kimchi Blue brinted wedge bootie $69
black footless tights
Ecote harness tall boot in Black and Brown $79

Night Guys. Im tietie!

"Do you like this one? How about this one?"

Hi ya'll. I hope everyone is having a good week. We ended down to LY and goal, but we still did pretty well, making a bit over 12. I was at the cash wrap for most of the day but I was able to close things out a little at a time because there were a few hours during the day and definitely at the end of the night when traffic was very light. I didn't work on any projects because there wasn't much time, however. When I left on Thursday I asked Leslie to try and finish working on marking down the jewelry, but there are still some missed markdowns, so if tomorrows opener can work on that that would be great. We should fill, especially scarves, and since the jewelry table is looking really light please go through the baskets in the office and pull sale. The items we have sold out of will be a great place to start: the geometrically shaped bracelets and the collar necklaces vanished quickly. Let's just try and sell as much as we can this weekend. Have a good weekend guys, and I'll see you on Monday.

What a week!

So we had markdowns this week which Abby has been working feverishly on! It's mostly jewelry which is awesome because we have 50% off womens sale accessories going on through the weekend. Almost the entire cluster table is on sale! I've been selling the jewelry just by talking it up at the registers. So much is on sale for $2.50!

I spent my day working in backstock on old WACC shipment. I was able to get through some boxes. It was mostly underwear, socks, tights, and some unprocessed bags. I was able to backstock or put out everything I came across however there are still boxes back there full of tights. We have a few ideas floating around as to where/how we might store them. That is to be continued..

Friday Directives:

Please spend your morning filling WACC sale. Consolidate the hanging sale shoes to one side of the frame. On the other side please peg out three scarves. They should just hang over two pegs right next to each other. The scarves on the shelfing can go onto the peg board (only three styles though, one on each peg). The empty shelf can be used for more sale boxed shoes. Please also clean up the presentation while you're putting it together. The top shelf can be filled with more sale hats. Any time left over in your morning must be dedicated to any WACC boxes in backstock. If we're about to open, just dump the contents of a shipment box into a bin and bring it up to the cash wrap to continue processing/putting it out. When you finish with that box, get coverage to grab another! Thank you!

Tuesday October 9th, 17 days till my bday

Hello WACC universe. As we expected we got 70+ boxes in this morning. Again not too many of them were WACC. We received a new wool BDG skimmer in hot pink, grey, turquoise green and black. We got a new style of gloves, replen in gloves we got probably a week ago, a new Ecote sherpa backpack, replen in jewelry, a new necklace and a new set of "love" earrings and face decorating rhinestones of some sort. Yesterday I left two boxes of WACC in back stock which I was able to put away because I was given the last two and a half hours of my shift to clean up, finish projects and get processed/unprocessed WACC in order. I was able to get to some of the older boxes from previous weeks emptied and back stocked, but the majority are filled with tights, so these are still back there. I spent the day moving around a lot and trying to get things done, but right now my mind is blank. So, these are the things I recall doing. It was refreshingly calm today, and after the last four days I was relieved. Liz worked today which was nice. She hasn't worked in months! So it was really nice seeing her. Welcome back Liz! I referred to the basket of unprocessed returns in yesterday's post; Liz began working on them today, so a dent has been made, even though they may not be complete. There are boxes at at the cash wrap right now of housewares, don't worry about them. Corey was working on them before he had to leave this afternoon and he said it was ok to leave them there till tomorrow. Overall it wasn't a bad day. I hope you guys enjoyed your Tuesday.

Last Day? Lord I hope so!

Hey guys. Happy Monday. As advertised, today is supposed to be the last day of the 50% off sale. So tomorrow might turn in to a clean up day, or not; maybe they'll extend it. Apart from that, however, today was another hectic day. We got 70+ boxes in shipment, but only a few boxes were ours, so I spent the first two hours tagging samples and cleaning and organizing the cash wrap, after which I placed shipment. In shipment today we received:

Replenishment in the promo Ecote suede booties
Replenishment in the wool BDG loafers
Cable knit and suede gloves
More cable knit fingerless gloves
A new color (oatmeal) in the long thin cable knit scarf
A new Staring at Stars scarf in two colors
A new eyelashes kit with three different pairs of lashes
A new high-top BDG platform sneaker
And  new necklace in two colors

All of the replenished merchandise was run to their respective places. The gloves were added to the glove and jewelry A-frame, the oatmeal cable knit scarf, which I placed before I realized that there were other colors that have not gone out, is on the upper shelf closest to the shoe shelves in the shoe lounge. The two staring at stars scarves are on the entrance table, the necklaces are on the A-frame, a sample of the platform sneaker is on one of the round tables in the shoe lounge and the eyelash kits are now part of the beauty stantions.

Outside of placement I spent most of my time at the cash wrap ringing. It was yet again another busy day, we got a good amount of returns, so for the most part I was stuck ringing. When I came in there was a basket of unprocessed returns that I wanted to work on but never got to. So for now these still need to be completed. I will attempt to do them tomorrow, but I don't want them to get to the scale they were at a couple months ago.

We have another day of overwhelming shipment tomorrow so until then. Good night.

Saturday Morning Directives

Good morning!!

If you can really focus on filling.. Please first start with WACC sale. We have tons of sale scarves, those can easily get filled, along with sale boxed shoes, and even sale hats. I think the sale bags are still pretty full but walk those too and see if there's any room for filling.

After that please fill the rest of the floor. Major focus after sale should be: The A-frames near the bathroom (especially the KB A-F needs a good fill, and the studded flats on the back..), then scarves need to be filled as well.

Please leave communication on what was filled!
Thanks and have a great morning!

SALE!!

Hey guys, it's been a long day. I moved the previous jewelry a-frame downstairs and brought the tights frame up stairs. Now jewelry is on one side of the frame upstairs and gloves are on the other. I placed the gloves that I found but Anni said there are more styles in boxes near the staging bay, so those should be added as soon as possible. Downstairs, tights are displayed on one side and bras should be on the other. However, I confused what was supposed to go where and originally placed the gloves downstairs instead of the bras. As I was upstairs for my whole shift, I was unable to complete the bra display. I don't know if Anni wants to continue working on that tomorrow because I know she has directives specific to tomorrow, but if she doesn't mind or if tomorrow's opener is complete with directives and has time, she can work on placing the bras. Morgin wants the bras hung on pegs instead of hangers, so consult her about this. Other than that it was a busy morning/afternoon. I hope we did well. See you guys tomorrow afternoon.

Abby

Friday Morning Directives

Good morning! Soo.. the face outs next to the shelving in the shoe lounge already happened. However, I still need the D&O four buckle tote to be moved. If you can take down the face outs they are on. Take the brown 'staple tote' and move it into sale, and put the four buckle bag in the middle face out where the brown one was. If you could spend the rest of your morning working on shipment, that'd be amazing. We have a new BDG ankle booty that came in this week that's still in boxes. If you could get those out onto the shoe lounge shelf, and backstock the second to top shelf of boots, I think that'd really help drive boot business for the weekend. The boxes are over near the tights in backstock near the denim bay. You can probably recognize the boxes because they are wider then the others. If you can not find them, please ask Andy I believe he is the one who showed me where they were to begin with.

Main focus: bag move, shipment, filling.

Thanks a ton!
See ya @ 2

I'm BACCCKKKKk!

Hello friends! It's nice to be back on earth aka upper level. I'm going to miss my guys downstairs, but change is good, or so I'm told. Anyway, yes today is Monday, the first of October, so new school/work week and new month. We got a good amount of shipment in. WACC got in a new necklace, which is represented on a 'neck-frame' on the oval table near Mink Pink table (sorry don't know any zone names for Women's yet), a new leopard print bootie that is currently on one of the entrance girls, replen in socks, the DO studded wedge bootie, a new scarf in two colors that is hanging on the back of the rack down stairs near the staircase, a new knitted hat in grey and blush, replen in the nyx matte cream lipstick, a new cream color in the BDG wedged sneaker we got in black last week (also showcased on an entrance chick), replen in black pointy-toed skimmers, a new studded cross shoulder bag in pink and black and the envelope clutches we got months ago in two colors as well; mintish green and black, and new mittens. I processed and placed everything but the skimmers and the hats and gloves. I also restocked and reorganized the socks on the A-frame downstairs and RF'd and marked down the sale skippies and Mary Jane's in the shoe lounge. Other than that, I know Anni has a few projects for us this week, so lets look forward to that. We did a little over 19 yesterday and our goal was set for a bit over 9 today, so we'll see tomorrow. Till tomorrow afternoon, BYE!

Abby

Weekly Directives

We ended the week +10%! vs company which was -2%! Word go WACC!

Successful Classes: 157 scarves +63%, 162 necklaces +32%, 312 boots +62%
Opportunity Classes: 311 casual shoes -5%, 151 handbags -25%, 152 hats -39%

I am closing all this week so I'm trusting Abby, Nandi, and Nico to hold it down while I'm learning closing procedures. It's really important we follow the directives this week, especially because I won't be here in the morning to assure everything gets done. I delegated the projects so everything should be able to get down by the end of the week. Pleaaaase leave communication on what did/didn't get done.

Directives:

Tuesday: Please work on shipment per usual. Get out as much as you can. If you need help with any placement please ask Morgin.

Wednesday: Please work on shipment per usual. Get out as much as you can. If you need help with any placement please ask Morgin.

Thursday: A-Frame switch!! Abby, I know we spoke about this. But I'm going to type it out anyways. SO, the jewelry A-Frame is going downstairs where the tights A-Frame is. The tights A-Frame is coming up near the cash wrap. We're doing a big swap here. The new tights A-Frame is going to house tights on the back and bras on the front. The new jewelry A-Frame is going to house jewelry on the front and gloves on the back. I know this is a big project so please begin working on it ASAP when you come in Thursday. I would take care of the A-Frame downstairs first, because it'll be easier to work on the jewelry and gloves while you're next to the cash wrap. Please try to fill bras from backstock, especailly the scalloped lace bra and the triange lace bra! I'll be in at 2 so we can touch base.

Friday: Today I need some bags switched out. The D&O four buckle tote (it's on promo, on the high face outs in the shoe lounge, comes in a few colors) can be condensed and moved to where the brown D&O 'staple bag' is. (This is the D&O promo bag that comes in brown, blue, and black in the SL). The brown staple bag is on sale so it can be placed in the sale section. THEN, the empty standards next to the shelving in the shoe lounge needs to get face outs. Please add three face outs going down and add a bag to it. I was thinking one of two things, either the East West tote can be pulled from upstairs and filled into the face outs (and double rep 1 of the colors, because the black is on sale). OR, due to the wall near the cash wrap coming down we will have a lot of misplaced backpacks, so perhaps we could add backpacks down there next to the shelfing.

Saturday: Please work on WACC sale. The top shelf of sale hats can be backstocked. Bump up the other hats to the highest shelf and bump up the shelf of scarves. This should create an empty shelf to add more sale boxed shoes. They should be organized in backstock so please grab whatever you think will sell that has full quantities. Please also fill sale scarves (The floral lace eterntiy and netted color blocked scarf, already in sale, are both selling very well so perhaps fill those instead of putting a new sale scarf out). Please also fill sale casual shoes on the peg board. We should have more of the silver 9.99 KB flats in backstock. Check the first WACC bay, they're in a bin.

Direction:
  • PLEASE keep casual shoes filled. Those A-Frames in the back are so easy to fill. Keep an eye on the KB flats, the BDG studded flats, and the pointy BDG skimmers. We have two promos going on for these shoes right now, let's keep them filled!
  • Tyler RF'd the clutches on Sunday and there are a ton on sale. So this need to be organized (two/three bottom shelves dedicated to sale clutches..) and filled with full priced wallets.
  • Any downtime needs to be spent on filling.
  • The Mary Janes in the SL need to go. Most of them are on sale. This will create another shelf to add more boxed boots.
